Re: 320 Log Header Project
Modified weapons???
Dont know if I can help... Where are you? I thought I was the only one who thought of doing this but obviously not! That's cool... For the sake of being more pleasing to the eye and efficiency, flow wise, I cut the second runner right out and move the first one and tig it to the third one.
On a second note, last night, at a Timmies parkiing lot, while fiddling around with my acer A100, I was approached by an audi R8 owner showing interest in my car. My god, What would I give to get his own car....? It's amazing at how different people put different values on different things!!!

hi turbomar
i bought a pair of the obx for 180 shipped, around xmas on make an offer on ebay w vendor.
watch their sales.
any how we cut off the front tubes and welded in metal to fill the log.
put on the o2 bungs, and cut the tube to the outlet flange and then my welder went to prison. his house repo'ed and my jigs were lost in his transition to federal housing. for awhile,... modified weapons.
so here i sit, needing the jigs as my stock headers were long since put back on the car.
turbomar,... can you help?. i have no interest in making more, only finishing mine.
a loan, a lease , a rent, i'll swear on my canadian daughters head i wont duplicate the jig or make more sets.
i'd swear on the wifes head but she's dead and gone
to the questions on size
primaries are about 1.5- 1.625" and accept stock gaskets.
the main log is 2.0- 2.1"
outlet size of the header flange is 1.75" but it can be enlarged to 2.0", the size of the downpipe fm needswings or the inlet of the cats.
the header flange thickness is .375"
as you can see the outside of the obx is very nice and the inside somewhat rough and needs some cleanup inside of dross, or whatever the welding debris is called
the hardest part of the stock header removal was the overtightened (by dealer) factory copper nuts to the head studs. they will round easily and a six point socket w wobbles and u joints worked the best for us.
space is tight but when you undo the motormounts it just takes patience.

Re: 320 Log Header Project
it was a shameless plea to borrow your jigs, i didnt want to buy some stock maniflods to make the jigs and end up w 2 sets of stockers.
i posted too hastily and shouldnt have asked. i apologize.
the weapons charge? untaxed modified barrels, as in really short and equipped with silencers for ak's and ar's. once again, folks, always pay your appropriate taxes and fees to the govt.
the manifolds,
we started out considering the method you are pursuing, much preferring the aesthetics of the first tube and eliminating the second or third runners.
we were concerned about keeping the pressures as equal as possible and thought perhaps when under boost and full rpms that there would be a pressure differential between the front cylinders and the other 4 due to the different runner length to the actual log.
when we had water cooled log manifolds on our old 60's 70's lake boats the runners to the log were always equal, the last being a hardin marine 455 olds 390hp,. old days i know, but all i have for experience. so we opted to amputate the odd runner in favor of the a match, right - wrong? no clue.
i am sure someone on the board will know a lot more than i do and illuminate me on fluid and thermal dynamics.
btw have you looked around the last runner of the passender side log where its welded inside? mine had some sharp jagged edges and we are thinking they will heat up and glow causing grief. later we wondered if they were for anti-reversion or just rough welding practices. i think rough welding.
