Thumbs up Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status

Alright guys, Good News. We have completed the design. Now it works like this....

When ever the Feeler reach 25 participants, we will then move forward with the Bulk Buy. I've paid to be a forum sponsor and also paid the Group Buy Fees, nevertheless this feeler will help us in promoting the product to help offset the group buy cost in the near future. The supplier is pushing me to get the ball rolling, and I would hate for all this work to be lost.

Shipping

Shipping will be very reasonable depending on your location, International sales are welcomed. And even better if you and a friend or three get your hoods shipped to the same address you can save. Local pick up are also welcomed.

Please PM me if you have any questions. If your not a forum member and you’re a guest contact me at crosseffects@gmail.com

The bulk buy will officially end 30 days after receiving the 25th participant deposit.

1) Hoods will be guaranteed to fit.

2) Hood pins will not be needed; nevertheless it’s your choice

"All aftermarket body kits / hoods are sold AS-IS with no implied warranty. Buyer is responsible for fees concerning installation and up keep of the products. 1) Direct replacement to factory hood

2) One-piece lightweight fiberglass construction grants stability without sacrificing strength

3) Unbroken carbon fiber weave layer and true rolled edges provides for superior beauty

4) Signature glossy UV-protection clear coats adds durability and longevity

5) Functional hood vents helps Increase heat dissipation from engine bay

Everything was done in AutoCad, but I can say the design inspiration was from a very $$$$$$ car OEM hood design. Have patience we will see soon. Hopefully the design exceed all expectations.

No problem. Please post them when you have the opportunity. Many of us are excited to see the design. Can you describe where/how the hood is vented? Is it a cowl vent, or more like Jag XJ type of vents? Thanks

Lets just say it should represent the Jag, Jag vents, with water channels. The reason I can't fully tell you what the final product looks like is because the design is still in the prototype development stage. On the delivery date, when I'm able to test fit the prototype we will know all. I will be sure to have the STL people meet me to take pics, and evaluate the quality of the design work. FYI..... I should have some updated pics next week which would give us a litle more insight into the over all design.

Thanks. There has been so much talk in the past that has never materialized, it will be nice to see one completed. I will be looking forward to any updates, and thanks for your efforts on this.

Talking Re: Vented Carbon Fiber Hood Design Status

THe dragon reminds me that that its been over a year for my design. I drove down and back from Va and in the rain both ways without water related issues.

It will be iteresting to see what a carbon hood wanna be will cost you when installed on the car. Mine is easy to copy and is not difficult to replicate. Yes Ill do a thermal eval to show the heat rejection benefits, as I was the first to get into cooling seriously. Supercooler, 180 stat, hood, under hood liner delete and under motor baffel delete, exhaust shielding, and eventually fan controller that I can release to the public forum.

WOODY

AAAAH GUYS I CANT EVEN COPY PREVIOUSLY TAKEN AND STORED PHOTOS. THIS IS NEW AND FURTHER DEGREDATION OF THE SITE............

SEE MY ALBUM ON THE HOOD PLEASE.

not bad at all ... I definitely prefer it over stock, although I'd like something without the lines down the hood

I wouldn't know how to go about getting that done with a stock hood though. You said it is "easy to copy" ... does that mean if someone went down to a local body shop and showed them the picture of yours, the body shop should have no problem duplicating it?

I love you hood Woody but I'd rather have mine whole. Even if it costs a few pennies more than cutting up the original. Thats just me.

Nor can I my friend nor can I. When you get close to having your mod done, be sure to let the rest of GCG know, we would be very interested in how it goes.

I suppose to receive a write up on the over all design effort including weights of the OEM hood and the aftermarket carbon fiber designs with an invoice up on completion. I believe the reason they chose to do this is because the design team has been burnt in the past due to not meeting individuals expected weight requirements and hood profiles.

Have them contact me when it is complete. I'd be very interested in sole distributor rights.
