LOL no problem, glad the needle-nose suggestion helped. Just try taking that clip out and putting it back a few times as it will be harder doing it with the HID install. Good luck.

Here's my old writeup:

HID Install Lows and Fogs with Pictures

And here is a link to the vendor:

Dodge Magnum Xenon HID Conversion Kit 9006 h8 09 10 : eBay Motors (item 390143680498 end time Feb-14-10 00:39:18 PST)

(9006 foglights) and:

VW Touran Xenon HID Conversion Kit 08 09 10 H7 9003 H1 : eBay Motors (item 390143663899 end time Feb-13-10 22:46:56 PST)

(H7 Headlights)

Read the writeup and make sure to request the wire harness for the "Bulb Out" indicator. It's free.

Does anyone know if these when installed will pass inspection or do they have to be removed for inspection? Ron

Thanks all for your help! Ron

Depends on your state and potentially county laws.

Got mine on Wed (6000) installed them Wed w/o beer can on engine cover and several people standing around helping/mocking

The directions were ok and only needed for anti flicker connection. I'd say for $40, these were a good buy and they do light up the road and signs. However, if one of these has a ballast go bad after warranty, I'm going to be considering some ultra brights. I just have to seen them on Sharks when parked next to me.

You went (IMO) with too high a color. 6000k is really blue.. I didn't think so (i sound like a broken record here..) until I went to 5000k.. then I went (and still am at) 4300k. WOW. Much much much better. They still give a 'blue' flicker because of the way projectors work when you're driving down the road.. but the white is pure white, unlike actual blue light (6000k, 5000k).

Matter of personal preference I guess. I used these links below as my gauge before ordering and while blueish in the chart, they really don't look all that blue when I'm driving. Also while driving I see no flicker; this could be due to the extra anti-flicker capacitor harness they provided, as they put it, for higher end automobiles such as Benz, BMW, Porches, Jaguar, Ferrari, etc.

Okay call me stupid, but I'm slightly confused. The two links to ebay are for a Dodge Magnum and VW Touran. Are they the same thing? Which exactly is which?

BTW great right up and great find. I just need to know which to order. Since I've got a low beam bulb out I'd like to go on and upgrade

Another quick question, how much heat does this put out, anyone worried about melting the plastic shroud? Also will my lamp out light still be lit on my dash?

I'll chime in real quick on a couple things.

1) Don't worry about what make/model car the HIDs say they are for, just make sure that you buy a set of H7 (lowbeams) and if you go with fogs as well then make sure you get 9006. Those are the bulb numbers to match. The bulbs are pretty much universal by part number as far as what cars they will fit

2) I was woried a bit about heat as well, but haven't had any issues or any signs at all of too much heat dissipating into the engine bay from the ballast. Though there are some people here (like max) that have had these on for MUCH longer than I have. They might have a better opinion

3) Once you replace your burnt bulb with HIDs (well actually both lowbeams) you should not have a lamp out indicator on your dash. I know I do not and have not. However, because of the stored energy I do get about a 2sec lamp out after I turn them off... It goes off and all is fine, I haven't had any issues with them.

Hope your purchase/install goes smoothly. definitely have Max's threads handy as they are invaluable in the information/pictures department.

Awesome, I went with the 6000k for both the low beams and fogs.
