RIGHT!

So, how do I:
  • Find someone with $30K disposable that needs a tax haven
  • Convince said rich-guy that I'm worthy of said $$$
  • Use said sponsorship to drive recklessly across America in a car that costs at least twice the entry fee, if not thrice the amount
Based on my charm alone? Carry my track helmet with me to the audition? Pour gasoline in my shoes for the seasoned smell of a racer?

All good points to ponder...

So if you find a way to have said questions answered.... feel free to post.

Of course we could try the route of swindling good people with outrageously high priced... cheap products? Perhaps that will catch the eye of a rich business man with $30K burning a hole in his pocket.

Just got my ears perked by the vendor on this. I had emailed him to thank him for honering the auction @ 5.19. Little confusion on his part, but ended up sending him to this link in the forum which cleared up what I was talking about. If you've been to his Ebay store you noticed he deals in quite a few Polyurethane products. Long story short he's shown interest in our no longer available rear diffusers.
Not saying he's going to look into producing them, but the price we have been paying definately caught his interest.

I'm waiting for the chance to paint mine. Thinking it would look a lot better on white if it was matching. Reading online looks like a fair amount of prep work to get a good job out of it though.

From what I've read - oils in the polyurethane need removed from the surface with a wipe down of laquer thinner. Painting requires this..wipe with thinner, then sand the surface, soapy water wash - dry -flash with laquer thinner again just prior to painting.

From online PDF file - also think there is an instruction sheet included..

Before you start, please make sure you have the proper safety equipment to avoid potential harm to you and your
vehicle.
1. Clean out the oil stain on the product. Using the clean duster cloth to wipe up the surface of the product with thinner. Then, use the duster cloth to wipe up the product again.
2. Sand the product in the water with No. 320 sand paper. Then, rinse it again.
3. Painting the product with the PU epoxy primer.
4. Mending the surface of the product after the primer’s drying (fill up the pinholes with polyester auto-body putty until the product looks smooth)
5. Painting the top coating of PU series.
You May Also Visit YouTube for Video Tutorial Demonstrations By Searching “Installing Body Kits”
C. Installation.
1. After the front lip spoiler is prepped and painted, double-sided tape should be applied to the indentation on the inside of the front spoiler. This surface has to be CLEAN and DRY for the tape to properly adhere. A residual-free cleaner is recommended (e.g. Wurth ™ Clean-Solve) to prepare the surface. The surface of the vehicle should also be prepped and cleaned for proper adhesion. For BEST
results after cleaning, use of an adhesion promoter such as 3M™ should be applied to wherever tape will be used. When applying tape, make sure that tape is smooth and wrinkle free. It is best to use multiple small pieces on long sections rather than 1 long piece.

Really??

They have you wet sanding with a 320 grit paper as your final prep before paint? This is insane and will result in a rough, low quality paint job...

I was thinking the same thing when I first read that, but I havent painted anything hoping for perfection. You would want to start with 320 and work more towards something fine like 1000-1200 right?

I'll place a bet he was talking around the "v" in the nose area.. I did state a little tweaking might be needed. Probably needs some "support" on the open area underneath the "v".. like a couple brackets bent past 90 degrees (small shelf brkt type) and tape between them. Think now this weekend I'll play with getting mine mounted. I can always mask the car off to paint.

It all depends on how rough the starting surface is and how good you want it to look. For most parts intended to be finished and painted, a 320 grit SP will marr the surface terribly and require you to do much more work. I would start with at least a 600 and work to a 3K, but again, it depends on how good the original finish is....
