Default LED license plate bulb -- full assemblies

Anyone think these would work?

License Plate SMD LED Light No Error Mercedes W203 C230 C240 C280 C320 C32 C55 | eBay

Going off memory, I think these are roughly the same shape as the OEM lenses. My plastic lenses are cracked, and I've tried numerous "flicker-free" LEDs that end up going on the blink in ~2 months. Seems replacing the whole housing would make the most sense, and the reviews on the Benz forums are pretty positive.

Cheers,

These look like they are sealed units and may have no option to change just a bulb. If they do indeed fit, they could be a good option if you insist on LED lighting. Otherwise, Dave (180) has posted a diagram and plan for making a DIY lense, to replace the cracked lenses. If your OEM units still get power and light the bulbs, this might be an option. Just sayin..... If you get them let us know

K, I compared the shape to the ones on my car, and it's bang-on.

I also ran the OEM part number (A 230 820 02 56) and it's used on nearly every Mercedes from C320 to SL65 AMG. So, these should fit.

I will likely get a set ordered and update the thread with pics/how-to.

Over the winter, I'll be upgrading all lighting to LED and HID.

I ran LED bulbs on my white Limited, and it simply made the car look "newer" at night.

I need to get busy with the search tool, to find out what everyone is using for marker lights up front w/o throwing error code.

This looks like a great idea. Cheaper than buying lenses at $15(?) each. So the price is right.

My thoughts as well. That's why I'm really hoping this works properly.

I dont know if anyone else posted these, But I have them in both my Crossfires, over a year now with no problems. A little bit of a tight fit but they work perfect.

This is kinda what I was expecting once I saw that the A 230 820 02 56 housing was used on dozens of MB platforms over the last decade. I'd be willing to bet good money that there is no difference among the sets offered by that eBay seller, just differences in the auction listing.

Glad you've got a working set, and have had great success, Jimmy! This gives me the vote of confidence I need.

Any tips on removing the old ones?

Cool!Mine came out fairly easily once I removed the lens the housing is just snaped in , I think there may have been some 3m tape or something.

Keep us posted, JHM2K. My lenses are cracked and crappy. Plus, the drivers' side bulb works intermittently for some reason. Thanks!

I ordered these and got them today !!
A very simple install and WOW what a HUGE difference
Great LED replacements for our OEM's
Just remove the old covers and then pry out the OEM sockets and simply unplug the wire and plug it into the new LED assembly and snap the assembly back into the hatch. They fit perfectly !!
No screws even needed any more and the light is crisp white !!
OH YA....No bulb out indicator on the dash either

All Pics Here>>>
