Default How to Remove Spoiler Undercover

I have a 2007 Hardtop (Coupe I believe). When the rear spoiler is in the up position (raised) there is a black plastic cover underneath. I want to get that carbon fibered but I do not know how to take it off. I went to the manual and could not find a step by step on the removal of that underneath cover. I found the screws holding it down but it still does not come a lose from the body.

Can anyone help me out here

Not sure how to do that while it is in the car. That entire assy will come out with a little work. Remove the interior trim piece on the trunk lid. Then you will see 10 -12 bolts/nuts. Remove the nuts, disconnect the wire plugs and it will come out from the top.

James:

Thans for the quick reply. I figured it came off from the top after removing the entire assembly from the top. I located the ten screws and bolts and after unfastening them the plastic cover is still affixed to the body. Unloosening the ten bolts did not dissengage the cover and I thought it would like you suggested

I removed my wing assy but never really disected it. Currently it is wrapped and sealed up in a box in the attic. I would think if you removed it from the car you may have a better look at how it was put together. Sorry I couldnt help more. James

But James before you abandon me, where you are is where I want to be. What did you do to remove your wing assembly from the car. When you unfastened the ten bolts did it lift right out or was there something else holding the assembly to the car.

All I want to do is lift the assembly wing unit from the car so I can get to the cover

The wing assy is also sealed to the trunk unit. There is an adhesive weather strip around the perimeter. If you are positive you have all the fasteners removed, gently pry it out with something plastic, while pushing from the underneath.

James that is what I thought. But I wanted to check before prying.

After I removed the bolts, the assembly cover was still fastened to the body like it was glued or something. You gave me confirmation that my thinking was not off.

Thanks so much for not giving up on me and staying with me and trying to understand what I was asking
