My headlights are flashing!! :(
My headlights are flashing!! :(
I have an 05 SRT6 and about a month ago my battery light came on so I had to replace my alternator, (replaced my battery too which I didn't need) I used a duralast Gold Premium alternator and recently the battery light will light up every so often (usually at high revs) at night my lights seem dimmer than usual and sometimes the headlights will flash from dim to brighter and car will even shake for a few moments, don't know what else it could possibly be need some help!?

Re: My headlights are flashing!! :(
I've noticed that my terminals got slightly darker, but if my terminals were bad I think the battery would not even charge at all, I've double checked all my connections, unplugged and fastened all the terminals
Re: My headlights are flashing!! :(
I did some testing earlier with my voltmeter and the readings keeps going all over the place from high 12V to 14V, but the weird thing is the battery light doesn't come on while it does that.
Re: My headlights are flashing!! :(
Just to be sure about the negative battery cable, you can make a cable about 2 feet long with 8-12 gauge copper wire with a terminal attached securely to each end.
Using a 10 mm nut, connect one end to the unused bolt on the negative terminal and to any place convenient on the engine.
If your problems go away, you have a ground or internal cable issue with the negative battery cable.
Fix it, and remove the temporary ground cable.
( I am assuming you have already cleaned the battery posts and cable clamps )
You could also have an intermittent open internal to the battery.

Re: My headlights are flashing!! :(
Took it to the same dealer which I got it done. Ended up refunding me the work done since it was under "incomplete maintenance" soo got it fixed and had to pay a fraction of the cost
