Default HiD headache for my SRT

Can't even believe that this is such an issue, but it is what it is. I bought my SRT about 5 months ago, and within that time frame I've already bought 2 HiD kits for this car. The last set (which I just installed 2 frickin weeks ago) that stopped working just sent me over the top with this car. (with my car in such great condition and only 40k miles, I've already dealt with almost every known issue with these cars I.e. RCM, ignition locking pin, IC pump went up) ANYWAY, I hit the road last night to meet up with the ol' ball and chain and I had to wait about 20 mins or so in the car with it running the whole time. I glanced down and noticed the light out indicator on the dash so I got out and seen my driver side was out. (which is the same light that went out on the previous kit) got back in the car and turned the lights off then back on and I lost both headlights BUT the kicker is, is that my light out indicator isn't lit anymore. Why is such a stupid little thing such a prob with this car? This stupid kind of stuff should be the last thing we have to worry about. I mean its just a dang light for crying out loud. I read thru a few similar posts and someone mentioned having to replace the factory headlight relay but when I search such a topic I keep getting steered toward the mystery no starts with the RCM.

There is no factory headlight relay for the low beams, and I assume you put the HIDs in the lows, right ?
The 12v to the lows comes from the 'Illumination Control Module' - fancy name for the headlight switch.

Yes, highs still work, HID fogs still work and the little corner lights in the headlight assembly still work. I dont think its the lights themselves for 2 reasons- 1. They are only 2 weeks old. 2. I have the same hid kit in my other crossfire and they are still working fine. Thwy were installed over a year ago.

Do you have a multimeter ? Measure voltage at the connector to the ballast and see if you have 12v on each.

I had went through two Xentec kits and had them replace parts once in about a 2 month time frame, they are just crappy kits. I don't know if they made them better back when you put them in your other Crossfire or you just got lucky and got a good set. I finally sprung for an expensive Xenon kit strait from their website (to avoid eBay knock-off's), cost me a little over $100 but the kit itself seems to be much better and brighter than the Xentec kit. I have had them in about a month and haven't had one problem yet.

Hmm.. Xentec. Two years in my coupe problem free and a couple months in my wife's roadster. Guess I'll see if 3 times is the unlucky number with my roadster.. LOL.

Hell I knew you were familiar... did you ever resolve the lean issue?? We'll "ignore" the balance of this discussion below..
