Default H7 HID Bulb

Just installed Morimoto xb35 4300k hid kit on my roadster. Great quality product and an easy install. One thing I did notice is the shadow in the beam pattern caused by the ground wire being on top. I know this has been discussed before . My plan is to re notch the bulb base to relocate the ground wire on the bottom. Has anyone tried this and did it improve the light quality. Thank you in advance.

Thank you! Was going to order a cheap set of bulbs and try it, but now I will work with the morimotos.

The metal needs exact cutting for fitting. Plus be careful to not bend the rest of the base, as it impacts alignment quite a bit. Do one at a time, and do it where you can mark your beam on a wall or garage door or something.

Modified and installed bulbs today, very happy with results. Great cut off line and no ground wire shadows. Thanks for the help.

I have some morimoto HID's which i will be installing this winter.
Is there any detailed explanations as to how to change the position of the ground wire in order to remove the shadow?
Please let me know.
Thanks

You don't touch the return wire at all, unless you want to replace your bulbs for no reason. You cut notches on the reverse side of the bulb base, opposite the notch already in place. Make it the same dimensions, and you're in business. Nothing more to really explain honestly, just don't bend the bulb base, and DO NOT touch the bulb glass with your fingers. They leave grease behind and damage bulb lifespan easily.
