Smile red CROSS - On the road assistance for Crossfires

What do you folks think about starting a Crossfire Support List?
Purpose would be for forum members to have a list that they can reference should they require assistance while traveling in their Crossfires.
Say you are traveling and your Crossfire dies, you get a flat, lost, lonely, whatever. Thank goodness you made a list of members that are on the "CROSS" list and are just a phone call away to offer assistance.
What do ya think?
Now. Who's gonna start the "CROSS" list?

Crossfire

Repair
Or
Support
Squad

Get it? It's a RED Cross as in assistance! Ok I'll get back to work!

Ok I'll start.

I am offering roadside assistance to forum members that may require it in the Southeastern portion of Arizona. I'm located 30 miles south of I-10 exit 302.

Now all we need is a way to provide contact numbers without posting them on the WWW for all to see. Ideas?

You beat me to it. I think it's a great idea and could be of great use to those in need of a hand...or a wrench.

Here is what I was thinking. As so no one's name and information comes out too publicly on here, therefore I have created an email account to help retain a little privacy.

If you would like to join send an email to CrossfireSupport@gmail.com with the following information.

Real Name:
Username:
Phone #:
City:
State:
E-Mail: (to receive the list bi-weekly)

I will take the lead responsibility on it for now, and moving forward if need be we can pass on the password and such to the next person.

In my opinion, the only people who will receive the list are those who are on it (seems only fair), so that a pay it forward approach could be taken.

Between now and November 1st, I will send out a weekly email notification with a new excel spreadsheet on it in preparation for the Dragon. After November 1st it will become bi-weekly.

I'm open to suggestions from anyone on how to improve, or even who should handle the list...

Excellent start Tigh. I just spoke to AMX Jim and I think that someone in the CCICC should put it together along with the forum monitors. The list should be divided into regions and broken down from there. Obviously, Florida is a big state so there would probably be 5 different areas for Florida. NE,NW CENTRAL, SW AND SE.

And I love the RED CROSS.

I'm thinking it may be nice to provide your approximate location as I did "I'm located 30 miles south of I-10 exit 302." so the a member traveling in way north California doesn't try to contact a member in San Diego for assistance.

This is a stroke of brilliance! (Only kind of 'stroke' an XF owner wants to hear about, after all, we are, on average, an older bunch!)

Email on the way.

Oh boy! Another chance to get a symbol by yer name perhaps?
Maybe to identify CROSS volunteers there could be a " + " by their forum name to show that they are available to assist traveling Crossfire owners.

Just a thought.

Great idea from a guy without a "black" crossfire.... Better yet, if they do help someone, they get a gold star by their name.

The list will be on an excel spreadsheet with each state included having its own tab. Within the tabs there will be one list of all participating members within that state.

then when members need to they can print off the state they are in or the states they will be traveling through/to. This way if something happens, help is just a phone call away.

I've helped before and I'll help again. Whether it's help changing oil or a belt to checking out a car for sale. Anywhere in the surrounding phx area.
