Here’s my simple cup-holder solution.

These simple cup holders work pretty well for me. I bought them at a Schucks auto parts store for less than $2 each, and coated the backside with some silicon caulk so they won’t cause damage to the interior. I’ve attached a few pictures. As you can see, it can be mounted on the closed glove box door or a side door panel on either side and it is easy to install and remove. Not real pretty, but they work!

Nice thanks for sharing. Ive been buying drinks with covers on them and just trowing them on the pass seat or floor. Im going to have to get one of those, too bad theres no schucks around here in tucson that i know of.

I have this one too. It works well as long as you don't have a lardass in the passenger seat? "Honey, do these slacks make my *** look big?" "yeah, you're crowding my cupholder!"

Advanced Auto has them for $1.95 and Walmart has them for $4.69. It fits perfect in the bag between the seat backs. Up high and out of the way.

My solution...
I installed this yesterday (see pics).

I will put another in front of this one tomorrow.
2 drinks in the car at one time....the wife likes that.

Positives:
1. out of the way location, nicely tucked back between the seats.
2. can use tall mugs
3. no spillage on the console, door or seats. (if spillage, its confined to the storage box.
4. installation takes 5 minutes.
5. When not in use, close the hatch and it is hidden.


Negatives:
1. less room in the storage box.
(I use the glove box for glasses and other stuff.
I still keep a small flashlight, tire pressure gage and other misc stuff inside the storage box, it all fits just fine)

That is a great solution. I may be installing one of these and a partition of some kind to create a separate storage area. I'll have to think about it and see if I value the need for a usable cup holder or the large storage area of the center console. Decisions...decisions...

I had been watching all of the other solutions for some time. No one was ever quite happy with them. Never liked any that I saw. I like a tall mug on the way to work and got tired of holding it in my lap. This came to mind. I have been using it all weekend and it works great.

LOL good one, I'd advise you to not even go there with the *** remark. Of course if she's too big, the entire holder and your coffee will end up in the crack of her ***. I have the same cup holder from Wal-Mart. I think it was between $4 and $5. Like apkano said first and Valk said second it works great.

After two coffee tragedies, I only drink beer and keep the can between my legs. I had a hanger like the Schucks but hit a bump and it jumped off, dumping 24 oz of coffee down the driver door. So I tried to balance a cup in the center console, but a hard stop up-ended that too and soaked the console...which I found out, has no drain unlike my 82 Jeep CJ console which doubled as a cooler.

Best solution for beverage is to have spouse hold it, but you have to buy something she doesn't like otherwise she drinks it.

we have this one also,but we put ours in the map holder in between the seats.Its goes down nicely and works out nice for us.Yes a bit of a pain to reach back to get your drink,but it looks nice we think.The gray thing is our trash bag,The cup holder fits nice and no screws needed.

I have the cup holder that fits down between the passenger seat and it works great.But FIRED UP i like your idea and where you have installed your cup holders. I am own my way to the store to get those parts. So i can set mines up like that.I like the way you think.

I just don't drink anything in the car that doesn't have a screw on top. Keeps me from stressing out! I do drink coffee some mornings, but I just hold that in my hand - I LOVE the automatic!!!

The GOOD: Installed Corfire's Keyless Buzzer this weekend. Used a Radio Shack 273-060 outside the Fuse Box. Could not hear the "chirp" when it was inside the fuse box. Works like a charm! (See picture, I used Velcro to mount the buzzer.)

The BAD: The cup holder. I thought the cup holders on my old BMW Z4 were bad. But now that I have a 2005 Crossfire, I see that the German engineers for Crossfire beat the ones at BMW. With a manual 6 speed it's hard not to spill the coffee. (Ford just announce a new compact car that seats five and has eight cupholders, what's up with that?)

The UGLY: My cup holder solution is one that you will love or hate. I think most Crossfire owners will hate it. But, being a boat owner and wanting cupholders that will actuall work and I can reach, a quick trip to West Marine and less ten dollars ($4.59 each) fixed my problem. Two brushed black plastic folding cupholders did the trick. (See pictures.)

ALL I can say is, my drive to work today with my Starbuck's made me happy. (However, my glove compartment door hates me!!!!!)

I have the same cup holder, and we love it. However, I mounted it right below the console a little toward the front. Got the idea from a previous post with pics.

Glad you got the Keyless Buzzer alert tone working! I have received good feedback from those that have installed it!
It looks like you found a solution to the cupholder problem that works for you, as many others have found their solution. I am still using mine shown in the original post. It's amazing what we will do to get around the Crossfire’s little deficiencies!
