Converting from AutoStick to manual-looking shift boot
Re: Converting from AutoStick to manual-looking shift boot
I'm getting a Double DIN installed and getting the plastic silver parts covered in brushed aluminum with chrome trim. I'm reupholstering a few parts and getting custom stitching. It will be a while though, maybe three-four months.

The boot comes in different styles and stich patterns also
Now for the important stuff ......where can I get a set of those to hang from my mirror

If you want attention those "puppies" will bring you all the attention you could want. Once people realise those are not dice hanging from the mirror, let the party begin. Just ask some of the people from woodward who noticed them!

Re: Converting from AutoStick to manual-looking shift boot
I took pics of mine a few minuets ago to show how to install a shift boot on an automatic.
- Remove shift *** and the plastic peices around the gear selection display
- Put the plastic trim piece in bottom of shift boot. Make sure it is centered how you want it and that be careful it is very brakeable
- Push the shift boot threw the center and set the shift *** inside
- Put the bottom cap on the shifter before you push the *** on. This is very important. be careful when pushing it on so that the cap does not get damaged
- Make sure there is material is all they around and able to get in the cap. If there is too much you will never be able to screw it on so what I had in the previous pic is good enough
- Put the car in neutral and jently push the ring down makeing sure there is just enough material tucked under to hide the edges.
- push it down tight and there you go. Put the car in park. Done
- The switch with the W and S is still useable, you can feel for it right threw the leather and switch it at any time.
