We had the same problem on my wife's Crossfire. Out of warranty though as we bought it used.
Sharp enough to draw blood and it did.
I got in behind it with one of those foam sanding blocks from the hardware store (fine grit) and then finished it off with 600 grit sand paper. Up and down movement with the block to knock off the sharp edges and side to side with the fine grit paper to finish it off smooth as it should have been all along.
Problem solved according to the wife !!

Re: driver side interior door handle
Before I purchased my Crossfire last year, I sat in a few dozen before making a decision. I noticed MOST at the dealerships had this "peeling" problem on the interior door pulls. I assumed it must've been rings or jewelry hitting the outside numerous times, making that material crack, peel or split.
I purchased a black leather grab handle cover for my C5 Vette a couple years ago, and it just so happens that it fits the interior grab handles on the Crossfire nicely! I purchased two for my Crossfire, and they are functional and nice looking! (they wrap around the door pull and attach with Velcro). I've NEVER had to think twice about the material peeling off! Once attached, there's about 2-3" on each side of the leather grab handle that still shows the Crossfire's aluminum-looking material.
They come in a variety of colors...I purchased black, which is the most expensive at $19.99 per handle.

Definitely worth the investment to prevent those cuts in your hands!
Hope that helps!
