Default Cupholder replacement

Purchased a new cupholder online. But cannot figure out how to remove the trim piece that is on top of the cupholder. Don't want to break the top trim piece. Any pics or advice.

This How To has pictures. It is for replacing the cup holder with a bin but the steps to remove the parts are the same.
