It looks like there are quite a few eager FX owners interested, myself included. We just need to follow through when this suckie winter finally ends and get a few GTG set up. I'll drive a hundred miles in any direction so if it's Louisville, Indy, Columbus, Lexington or any where in between I'm in.

Of course I have no way of knowing how many of those owners are active here but, it seems that getting something organized this spring or summer should be doable. I know a lot of people do not like the whole club idea (dues, meeting, bylaws), myself included. Call our selves Ohio Valley Crossfires or not, it doesn't matter if no one ever gets together. One of the best things about owning one of these cars is the fact that they are some what rare. However unlike Corvettes and Mustangs it works against us when it comes to putting something together.

For instance using Cincinnati (for discussion sake) as the center and going out in a 100 mile radius you are now including quite a few large metro areas. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, Dayton/Springfield, Columbus, Indy, Louisville, Lexington and everything in between. Maybe as a starting point we can get some kind of roll call of forum members in or near that 100 mile radius so we have some idea how many owners we are talking about. Maybe your screen name, your location, year and model of your XF.

I am in Columbus and I would definitely be up for some kind of cruise / get together.

I know some good routes in northern KY, western PA, and southern OH, including the official Car and Driver test loop.

Looks like we have a lot of folks interested in doing something this year! As I stated in my original post, I think we have a lot of opportunities for some great drives along the Ohio River and beyond. If anyone wants to use the name and logo in their area and organize a GTG, please do so with my blessing. If you do set up something, please keep the rest of us updated on this link so others can participate if available. Maybe this is the year to organize a weekend GTG in a central area so we can get as many of the Ohio Valley Crossfires together as possible! Lets see what happens.....

I have been checking some dates for a few of my favorite car shows for the coming season. There is a great show every summer in Rising Sun Indiana right on the banks of the Ohio River. This years show is on Sunday July 6th and it's right down the road from the Rising Star Casino. Rising Sun also sits on the Ohio River Scenic Byway which lends itself to some fine open road driving and along with the many back roads could make for a nice cruise to Madison Indiana 30 some miles down river.

So then I Googled Madison Indiana and found out that same weekend is the 63rd Madison Regatta. These are H1 Unlimited Hydroplane boat races, they also have a car show on Saturday and fireworks Saturday night. In addition to the Regatta and the car shows there is the already mentioned Rising Star Casino/Hotel and the Belterra Casino/Hotel half way between Madison and Rising Sun for the gamblers in the group.

So I am just throwing this out there as a possible weekend GTG. Here are a few web sites to check out.

My Dad used to take me to the boat races as a little kid 50 yrs ago. It has been going on for a long time, lol. I'm in for something like this, I have a friend who's brother owns a vineyard in Madison as well. Lwt me know if the Rising Sun car show is what you are all going to do, and I will look into what I can do for a vineyard run.

I've just purchased my 06 and am looking for information on day cruises, any calendar of events, vendor rallies etc so i can see what my options are to dress mine up.
Several have already sent me info for Deals Gap /Fontana Village this fall and I'm set for that. I'm a old friend of the Dragon but was always on two wheels.
I'm in Dubois County so Evansville, Louisville, Indy are easy jumps for us. Tell me what's happening on May weekends!!

Well, lets plan on the Rising Sun car show. I am not even going to try to go west as originally planned. Too much to do and no time to do it. But a weekend I can do. I will check on the Madison Vineyards for a drive over a tour of the vineyards. Samplings I am sure, but not too much. I also know most of the back roads around there for some twisty fun up down a few hills. If some one is familiar with the hotels in that area to maybe pick a good one to stay at. James????? LOL. That would get the ball rolling.

Sounds good to me doc count me in. Here is a link to the show for everyone to look over. https://sites.google.com/a/enjoyrisingsun.com/car/
Maybe we should try and get a roll call going for those interested in taking part. The show takes place on Sunday but, keep in mind the boat races are taking place that same weekend down river in Madison or as doc suggested some back road fun on Saturday with a vineyard stop sounds great .

I have two locals possibly lined up for this along with myself. Anyone else who is planning on coming please give a shout out here so that we can meet up outside the show area so that we can drive in and park together.

We are about a week away from this show and I thought I would update everyone on what I know for sure. As of today it looks like I have gotten 4 maybe 5 Crossfire owners from this area who are planning to attend. A friend of mine knows a fifth person with a 9000 mile original car that may attend if there is no chance of rain. If any forum members are planning to attend I am thinking that we could meet outside the show area and drive in as a group. Not sure where that will be just yet so check back here in the next few days for more details.

Barry had to sell my xfire due to a bad back. I have 13 qts. of the Mobile1 oil and a Mobil 1 oil filter I will sell for $50.00 if interested. I am trying to make it to the g2g but it depends on how my surgery heals.

I have listed another Cincinnati area car show in the Crossfire Meets and the Car Show sections that i was hoping to make a GTG out of. The information can be found here. I will be sending PM's to some of the members that I know of in this area in the next week as a reminder. If you are interested feel free to PM me.
