Re: NEX Christmas Party Gala Event!!! "ideas wanted"
Hi All,
I was looking at a place in Gardner, MA., that is a hotel, restaurant and lounge. It is minutes away from Wachusett Mt. skiing too (for you skiers out there). The date I was looking at was Saturday Dec.13th.
They have a website the link is below.
http://www.colonial-hotel.com/
I would need to know how many for a Sat. night dinner reservation in the restaurant and after dinner the lounge is open to the public.
Rooms would have to be purchased separately by those wishing to stay.

There are several nice places at the tri state area of CT, MA & RI which would be about an hour's ride for all of our group members.
Gold Eagle (American food) Exit 94, Golden Greek(Greek food) between Exits 93 & 94 (Rte 12) Mariache (Mexican food)(Exit 96) all off I-395 in Putnam, Conn and mid-priced great food. Also Lic's (American food) between Exits 1 & 2 (off I-395) Webster, Mass Rte 12. Family-priced great food mediocre atmosphere.
All these are centrally located in the 3 state junction area, reasonable priced, bar if u want, and quality food..
Also these restaraunts are minutes away from downtown Putnam, CT which is the antique capital of New England. Giving people something nice to do before and/or after stuffing our faces.

Bruce, doesn't appear to be a whole lot of interest in this. Phil, what's your count as of now. If there isn't enough people then perhaps we will need to think of a more more centralized location as suggested by Bruce. Besides, he's old and it's hard for him to drive that far.

I apologize for not participating as much as I used to. This time of the year is extremely busy for me, and spare time is at a premium. The bride and I can't believe Christmas is coming so fast and we have a ton of stuff to do to prepare for it. We are booked each weekend through New Years at this point.
I wish you all a Happy Holiday Season, and maybe next year things will slow slightly so I can participate more.
Best always,
Bob

Gee guys, ... I'll share that with my 92 yoa Dad I watch over and also my 87 yoa Aunt that I'm responsible for. They would enjoy a good kick in the gonads too. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for making those type of remarks for the public to read. I'm sure that will encourage people to join this group that much faster. It makes me want to trade my Crossfire in for a Solstice. Do they come in yellow?
Have a Happy Holiday Season everyone!

The remarks were not made in any sort of negative fashion. They were simply stating a fact. If I'm not mistaken, we saw you once last year at the Newport cruise. I am only speaking for myself and this wasn't an attack, I'm sorry that you percieved it as such. We like you and wanted to see more of you, plain and simple with no hidden meaning. You said yourself, that we were a great group because we thought so highly of you that in a time of loss we took up a collection for a fruit basket for you.
You certainly thought we were good friends on the Newport cruise. We are all of that. I'm quite sorry that you took offense to the post that I made of my own accord.
You also said previously that, in the summer months, most of your free time is spent on your boat. We would never want to take you away from your burdens, any of them. The post was a suggestion that we all have chores to do but we set time aside for our club and friends, because we are a family and we act as such.
You can tell by many of the posts that we send concerning one another, there are little jokes and digs that are thrown around in jest. We care when one of us has car issues and we try to help one another out.
That's why we exist. I'm sorry if you want a Solstice, they do come in yellow too.
