Not new, but back...
Not new, but back...
My XF is a six speed '05 graphite, which I own since nearly new, I got it with just 2k miles in '05. Since it was introduced, it is my dream car! From the outside it is still untouched and seems stock. But last year I decided to upgrade it a little bit. It got an engine swap to an V8 from a '03 S500 and suspension and brakes from the SRT6. So it still looks like every XF, but on the highway it's a beast! Is there anyone else driving a six speed V8?
Till now I was I quiet reader of your great forum, but now I'd like to get in touch with other V8 drivers.

We'd like to know more about you like where you are located, etc.
Personally I'm curious to know who did your engine swap and the related computer work?

Re: Not new, but back...
The gearbox is still stock. Cause of the great torque, mostly I start with the 2nd gear, from 20 to 30 mph I use the 4rd, and then the 6th. There is allways enough acceleration, but of course, to have fun, I use the other gears, too. But on the highway is normaly no need to change gears.
The engine swap was performed by a small shop, which has a lot experience in mechanical and electronical upgrading MB vehicles.
Here is some more information. Unfortunately only in german. They did a realy good job including the offical approval by an engineer, without that you get no change from a car in germany street legal.
