Hey Guys and Gals,

My name is Jim and a new owner of a 2005 Crossfire Ltd. Convertible.
I put a down payment on it and am picking it up second week of April. It is about 9 hours away.
It has 30,000 kilometers on it and it is in pristine condition from the pics. Owner is original. Carfax perfect.
I asked the owner if it has ever seen snow. He laughed and said "it's never seen rain"

I sold my 86 Vette convertible in 1990 and really miss the two seater convertible.
I had a Lotus Esprit for a couple years in the nineties, but it was more work than fun.
I think the Crossfire will be great for my wife and I. I am approaching retirement and selling three of my motorcycles to help pay for the Crossfire. My wife is very happy about that, but I am keeping my 650 Suzuki Burgman Scooter.

Looking forward to the Crossfire knowledge and stories on the forum.

Regards,
Jim

HI Jim,

Welcome to the forum.
Great to see another Manitoban on the forum.
Indeed you will find all sorts of great info and people on this site..
Once you get your crossfire you will certainly feel the urge to make it your own.
What color did you get?
I've only seen a handful of X fires roaming the streets of Winnipeg..
Get ready to get told how beautiful these cars are.. And also people asking you what the hell kind of car it is lol..

Thanks,

It is alabas (white). I have owned many cars before, but never a white one. Going to have to keep the pressure washer handy.

White isn't that bad, worst part is the tar from the cold patch and pothole filler that they use in spring time... It's a real pain to remove.. It gets stuck to your wheels and the bottom end of the sides of the car.
I also have a white xfire. But mine has had an aftermarket paint job, platinum ice tricoat pearl finish.

Why stop there ? Get a spare RCM module (K40), spare serpentine belt, and get one of these tools :
http://www.ecstuning.com/ES1746403/

You might also want to look at the "One Touch Top Switch" mod, and a wind deflector of some sort.

Welcome to the family, Jim.
Our roadster is also alabaster and never seen a drop of rain.
Hope you and your wife enjoy the toy as much as we enjoy ours.

Picked her up on Saturday morning. 800 kilometers home. Everything is perfect, no idiot lights, everything works properly. Beautiful car. I'm very impressed.

Well, I have hd her for ten days now and I love her.

I have had a few Sportscars in my day and even though she is nowhere near the fastest, she has exactly what I want and need.

My first Sportscar was a brand new 73- 240z, went to a 86, then 88 Vette. Then went o 86 Lotus Esprit.

I have only had this vehicle for a week but I feel the attraction alredy.

#1 - x fire
#2 - 240 (loved that car)
#3 - 88 Vette (convertible)
#4 - Lotus Fun , but pricey and nobody could or would work on it.
#5 - 86 Vette - POS

I cannot believe how much more rigid it is over the 88 Vette convertible. It seems so much more stable.

I really can't see my opinion changing. I originally wanted an SRT6, but after driving this, I don't think I would ever use it. Only for exclusively.

Just wanted to chime in again. I put about 7000 km on her this year. She's about 38000 km now. I absolutely love this car. I have owned 2 Vette, Lotus Esprit, 240 Z,

This car rocks.
Except it cost me $150 cdn for oil and filter. Thank god my mechanic is cheap. ME:

Get your oil on sale at Canadian Tire and the filter from the cheapest source you can find.
I asked the local auto supply shop the price of a filter and he said $50 I laughed in his face and left. I split ten with a buddy and they were about US $10 each.

Jim
You're going to enjoy this car. I told another member on the forum that it was cheaper than a girlfriend. His response was "then you probably haven't had it that long". He was right. There are a million ways to make it your own and lots of help available here on the forum. I'm in Calgary and there are notnto many of them here either.

Mine is also a white roadster. Have fun just looking at it until next spring. Snow is on the way.

You can get the oil and filter at Cdn Tire for a lot less money............never had a problem getting the filter kit.
If you have a jack, couple of stands, Bob's your uncle for simplicity. Take your front wheels off at the same time and give them a good cleaning.
if you are getting a lot of brake dust on your wheels, go with the ceramic pads and eliminate that dust.....you can change the front yourself and you really only need the fronts.
