Crossfire FAMILY!!! please help me...


I remember getting my breaks done by my brother, next day ran over a curb.
Is been almost 2years since this has happened. SHAME ON ME..
Howver I cant do this anymore. My BAS/ESP light comes on, emergency BRAKE light on at the same time.
When they all 3 comes on my speedometer doesn't work which means my car doesn't go past 1st gear.
I have been going under the hood, jiggling the wires just to get the lights off so I can drive my car normal. I can go over a speed bump or simply hotmy breaks and the all the ligts will come on leaving me wither back to gear 1 which I cn drive like 10miles a hour or leave me stuck in the gear I was last in which isn't that bad because atleast I don't get horns at me.


Help you guys. Got Diagnosed from the dealer they had no clue where the issue was. WEnt to another guy who dealers send to him, and he showed me the area where I can jiggle the wires.
The WIRE HARNESS AREA.. is where ill touch those just to get the lights off and speedometer working to drive.


But im wondering before I get the part of the WIRE HARNESS by the ESP/BAS$$$$ area under the hood could it be a break sensor from my brother who could've done my breaks wrong or because I ran over a curb and it knocked it on? because it so sensitive what is something that can be a simple plug in wire thing, because the lights comes on and off when it want to.

You have answered your own question when you said I jiggle the wires to get everything to come back to normal.

 

I only have a rough idea of the OPs problem, you should explain yours properly.
What the brakes and curb have to do with it two years later is a mystery.
He never came back so no resolution there.

 

ShakaShaun, sounds like a transmission conductor plate issue to me.
( about $250 in parts and fluid, 4-5 hours labor - yours or a dealer at $100+ an hour )
I just did one yesterday, not too difficult.
( helps if you can get the car up on a lift, but can be done with jack stands )

 

I would agree if he wasn't shaking wires and making it work....

 

Yea, there is that ......
Maybe shaking the wires resets something ?

 

Or is making the connecting for that driving cycle?
Look at what's closet to the wires your shaking.

 

the wires are just under the fuse box, under the hood on the driver's side.

She did take her car to JS Benz they told me they found the problem ,,gave her a price and is waiting for a decision from her,, do not know any other information they did not tell me what they found or what they wanted to charge her.

Welcome. Adding a flog for the heck of it.

 

Personally, if the battery is over 3 years old, I would start by replacing it. I was chasing my tail for weeks with the multiple lights coming on, along with limp home mode in 2nd gear. Replaced the battery and no more silly lights.

Months later had BAS/ESP light come on randomly, turned out to have a bulge in the middle of a tire and all was well after replacing that.

 

Yes I went to JR benz but right before going got another person tell me it was the wire harness. Since then I dint want to purchase the wrong parts because of 2 different parts being told to me. since then I haven't drove the car until i get it fixed.

However the transmission conductor sounds like something to look into because again I ran over a curb and probably doing so damaged the conductor? idk.. Im seeking 1 last opinion because yes its super weird .

 

I also had to keep replacing my battery. Some days it wouldn't start up without a jump but the issue now wasn't as bad as it is now.

The wires I was speaking about was the wire harness wire area surrounding the BAS module.

 

And no I have no idea how to reply correctly to the right person

Finally found my pswd as well. Discouraged about the limited parts....

 

I see why this could be it, because I ran over a curb and in doing so should have messed with this correct? this is why you are saying this?

No Speedo - Limp mode - Dash lights Issue

When I had the No Speedo, Dash lights lit, and car going into intermittent Limp Mode -- it was the ABS module.
The car ran but if the dash lit up while stopped (at a red light/traffic) it went to limp mode - only a restart would clear.

Bought the ABS module for $140 on ebay and had the local mechanic install. Car ran like new again.
