Default Crossfires Across America - Rocky Mountain Edition

Colorado has been chosen as the next spot for the Crossfires Across America event. Many in attendance suggested that the event happens in 2012. I would like to offer that this event happen in either 2011 or 2012. Let me know what you think!

It is a lot to get done in a year.

That said, start now 'cause 2011 sounds fine with me.

I can't wait to drive that cool mountain air.

Colorado is a great place anytime but I've never been there when the Aspens have turned to GOLD. If arrangements can be made for 2011 we'll be ready to travel. If it turns out 2012 is more convenient due to planning and participation considerations we'll still be ready. We could only make it for Tuesday in STL but we should be able to make all three (or whatever number) days in Colorado. My vote is in the total.

Can't wait to share some of the best scenery and driving with everyone. Hope you guys can make it, you will not be disappointed! Itsky - what time of year are you thinking, real early fall would be killer (before the snow starts flying in the high country)?

After the GREAT time at the First CAA, you better believe I'll be there be it 2011 or 2012!

Hey, I can miss this GTG just as easily in 2011 as I can in 2012. But I'd rather miss it in 2011.
Since I couldn't make it this year, and with the way we're losing Crossfire owners almost weekly, I'd like to have onther opportunity to meet some long time forum members as soon as possible. Before they decide to "jump ship".

Lived there 10 yrs and I never in my life understood the fanaticism, along the lines of religious zealousness when it came to the changing of the Aspens. Not that it isn't someone neat, but nothing compared to the multicolored leaves. Nonetheless, I will be happy to be driving in the mountains with my XF.

No preference for myself. I would try to make it either year.

2011 or 2012 I will be sure to attend.
If ya need some help ...let me know what I can do from Illinois.
Now Ya gotta make this happen !!

Question is.... do we stay at one base location and do different daily drives or do we do daily drives with different hotel destinations each night ?
Basically saying unpack the car one time and drive without luggage each day or load up every morning and head for a new destination.

When I did my road trips in Colorado I stayed at different hotel destinations each night.
Although I was traveling with one car and stopped wherever I decided each night without a preplanned stay

I've been going over this in my head quite a bit. If we have a base of operations, we can provide more options by providing different routes multiple times. It may be hard to park 50+ Crossfires in some of these smaller mountain towns. We can try to limit the maximum number of registrations for the event, but I really would not like to do that at all. The more the merrier!

A base location will certainly make things a lot easier for you to my friend

since the planning is in the very early stages....why not 2 days in one location( ie colorado springs) and 2 days in another location about a day's drive away.that will give us a drive even on the day we are changing locations. just some food for thought.
