OK, sounds like 75 is the road to take.
@James, just give me the time and place and I will adjust my schedule accordingly to meet for breakfast and cruise on up.
@Randy, won't pick up 75 until TN....I'm way too far east and will have to work my way over to it. Guess that's why 77 is shown as the more direct route.

I-75 for sure! It's a bit boring, but it gets you there quickly. I've driven it from Toronto to St. Pete Beach about 40 or more times. Decidedly faster and safer! I love I-77 because it is much prettier, but there sure are alot of deer on that highway and the odds of smacking one are pretty good in comparison to the 75. Those things stand literally 3 feet off the roadway and don't even flinch when a semi blasts by. Downright scarry to be honest.
Drive safely and see you there!

Dan, I-77 is a great route as well, but as you get further up, I think I-75 is much quicker traffic wise...but, and I am not sure how James and you will come on up to Detroit, but the roads go down hill in a hurry when you enter Michigan...watch out for pot holes...and I mean monster pot holes...
