Any AMG Mercedes is a sleeper because most people think Mercs are "old rich people" cars. S65 has the twin turbo V-12 604 hp 730ft-lbs torque. Also, the new Audi RS6 wagon has a twin turbo V-10 and puts out 580hp. I would do almost anything for either of these two cars.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the 91-92 Galant VR-4. I owned one of these ( among my 7 total DSM's) about 500 bux in mods with the stock exhaust and your running 12.9s with a good launch and pissing off a lot of 5.0's and F-body guys, boy do I miss that thing. The Lancer just does not look like sleeper, the front mount gives it away to easy

This isn't really a sleeper....but I loved the 3000GT VR-4's. Such a great driving car. First car with four wheel steering...However like the crossfire, it was a gem that got lost somewhere in the marketing department.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, any edition with the massive spoiler removed
same thing goes for the WRX STi, without the crazy spoiler it'd be a sleeper for sure...
2004 Graphite Coupe w/ SRT6 front bumper

I think the Honda Prelude "trumped" the 3000GT VR4's (four wheel steering) by 4 years.

Pontiac G8 GXP. Same engine as the 'Vette. Yah, I'd have to ditch the "flash" wheels first ... but would dumbing down the wheels at the dealer count as a "mod"?

160 hp, but the car is the size of a shoe, and looks so innocent!
Also: Smart forfour BRABUS:177 hp, and not much bigger...and once again looks like a cute little pug-dog!
couldn't resist putting mine below:

Um, that would be Chrysler, not GM. Also, Fiat claims in about 18 months the 500 will be sold in the US through Chrysler dealers and will be virtually unchanged (other than DOT/NHTSA requirements) from the Euro spec car.

I know it said factory, but I always thought this was the best sleeper ever. Definitely NOT factory though.
