Non-Crossfire Transmission Problem
I know we have a lot of smart gear-heads here and I am asking for your advise. I've never had a vehicle with a transmission problem. But my '97 Expedition with 195k miles has started a small leak at the transmission seal.
I must admit that I missed the transmission fluid change at 100k miles and from what I've heard if you miss it, you should never change the fluid with many more miles on it because your likelihood of having problems are greater.
I have not noticed any change in the feel of the transmission. What is your advise? Do you think I'll need to replace it? Should I take it to a transmission specialist? I'm concerned about getting taken from those guys.
