Default How terrible do these look?

I decided to paint the calipers on my CL. The concensus over at MB World is the orange is not a good fit. If the color doesn't grow on me soon, I'll be stripping off the orange and going back to silver. What do you guys think? I still need to apply the caliper decals.

I don't mind the red/orange but I do prefer the silver. More fitting for the type of car that it is IMO.

If you want to be different I'd suggest blue. Silver to be safe. Dark grey works. Blue for me.

I vote Blue. The orange doesn't look like it belongs.

Thanks for the responses. My wife has already shot down blue, so my choices are stay with the orange or switch back to silver. Only 10 percent of those reading this thead are responding. I think we can do better thant that. Be honest, you won't hurt my feelings.

I painted my daughter's Rabbit's calipers with this:

VHT Engine Metallic

SP403 Titanium Silver Blue

from VHT paints. 90% silver and 10% blue. Looks great, wears like iron and would be a good match for an MB car.

It's also the color on my intake mani. Check my sig for a picture?

BTW-the orange looks pretty good, but maybe not on such a high-end model?

I would not emphasize something that does not add the the looks of the car. The best looking Calipers are invisible.

I'm with Max - for some reason the car looks to classy for that type of change. Maybe if there was another color on the car that you were trying to bring out?

Silver or Black/Metallic Silver speck would look really good in my eyes.

Well, looks like most of you feel the same as the MB guys. They mostly think it's too much as well. Personally I don't see the car as a luxury car as much as I see it as a sports car. Therefore, I didn't have issue with the calipers standing out like they do on some of the Black Series MB's. Yes, i know i don't have a BS, but the CL's no slouch either. Anyway, hopefully I'll get the AMG decals on the calipers tonight and post up some photos. Maybe that will sway some of you.

~ looks like you're trying too hard... subtle is good (in sliver). just my .02 cents.

I know, but it's easier to paint the other side than strip off the orange.

I'm with the others on it standing out too much.. I think if you could get away with color if you went something a little more subtle like a bronze metallic

I installed the AMG decals this evening and that seemed to have made them much more appealing to me. My wife even doesn't mind riding in it now. Anyway, I appreciate the honest opinions, but I think I'm going to keep the orange for a while.

Truth be told, I'm keeping them orange because Steve hates the look.
