Sometimes I wish I was rich !
Sometimes I wish I was rich !
Just finished replacing all 4 struts on my 2002 Chrysler Concorde Limited.
If I were rich, I'd gladly have paid the $80-$120/hr to have this done,
but then again if I were rich, I probably wouldn't own a 2002 car
I bought the fully assembled strut set for $264 so I didn't have to mess with the springs,
but this was a royal PITA anyway.
The fronts were not too bad, but the rear struts : WHAT WERE THEY THINKING !!!!
This could have been engineered much better, like use the same design as the front, but NOOOOOO , they had to design it so that the entire axle support assembly has to drop.
And the top of the rear struts : JEEZ ! They put the top strut bolts under the rear deck speakers !
You have to pull the rear seat ( both upper and lower ), then remove the top deck cover and speakers.
Bottom line, should have just let it be and put up with the soggy ride.

Re: Sometimes I wish I was rich !
Could you give me a hint ?
Re: Sometimes I wish I was rich !
I am not sure how much is there.
Edit
Looking at it there is a lot of info there.
The first one is the entire service manual.

Re: Sometimes I wish I was rich !
Sucks to get old. I cant do a lot of what I used to anymore. I assist my mechanic more than taking on the big jobs. Not so much the physical as it is the tools. Right tools job goes easier kind of thing. They mix up the bolts, specialty tools, you name it. Then again, I just got done installing a faucet in the kitchen sink last night. Usually an hr job. Took me 3 hrs, rusted nuts, not mine, the sink. Finally got out the saws-all. New faucet is in. My reference to the right tools, lol. Today, few pills for the back pain and we are good.
