Re: The worst car you've EVER owned
Believe it or not, I've never owned a car that I didn't like at the time.
If I had to pick the "worst" of the bunch, I guess I'd pick the early 70's Ford Pinto from my college days. But it served me well as a student, a good fit for that time in my life. Virtually trouble-free and bought used (in cherry condition) for $800.

Re: The worst car you've EVER owned
1974 Datsun 260Z - Sold my first new car a 1973 TR6 for it and I only had it 6 months. Bought brand new and it broke down on the way home from picking it up the first night. After the initial fix (a belt had fallen off causing the engine to overheat) the car smelled from raw gas all the time. EPA checked it out and said they detected the smell too but it wasn't at dangerous levels. Sold the car to a cigar smoker who parked the car outside. Saw him once after he bought the car and he never complained. I've been looking for a replacement TR6 since I sold the first one and still haven't found the perfect car. One of these days...
Re: The worst car you've EVER owned
my current daily ... but it is not its fault...
1995 dodge neon coupe...
it started out great when i first owned it when i was 18 ... it was a reliable well taken care of car, i had the paint gleaming with shine that would blind... so many jealous faces at school cause of my used car that i took care of...
then it went to my girlfriend at the time, i still took care of it, and then it went to my friend, in a course of a year and a half he managed to destroy the car.
after many talks with him i got him to invest in the car and we did some work on it but it was so far gone it just was too much for his hectic schedule...
to me it went again... now a 2.4 turbo 5 speed that did not run right... electrical gremlins all over the place !
working the bugs out one at a time but it is trying my patience, if it was not my first car every i would not try so hard to save it...

Re: The worst car you've EVER owned
In the days of young kids, car seats, and car-pooling..the worst car and perhaps the ugliest car we owned was a 1992 Ford Aerostar. It was a plug on the road, and a total eyesore...nothing about that van was memorable. From there,we up-graded to a Chyrsler Town and Country LXI. It was quite a step up from the Aerostar in looks and drive...Thank God our Van days are over...

1975 Chevy Monza coupe. A car the size of a Cavalier with a 350 Cubic Inch V8...Should be a real hot car, or so I thought.
The engine was Detuned to 120 HP....over 60% of the weight on the front wheels in a rear wheel drive car. I couldn't spin the tires in the rain!
Everytime I hit a bump the power steering belt came off...at that point steering was the equivalent to turning an elephant by its trunk.
Small light weight car with a big V8...I couldn't pass anything but a gas station....no power and only 12 MPG after 6 months traded it on a Chevette...but thats another story...

Datsun B 210... forget the year.... early 80's iirc. Not a 'bad' car.. I did rat it out.. 5 spd... kept oil in it... it kept running.
Worst car might have been an 80's something Nissan Sentra wagon, but only because it threw a rod.
Right now I also have an '86 Truck (pathfinder, but not called a pathfinder) with 200k on it... I'd call it a good truck, even though it is the ugliest car i've ever owned... and I've done some body work to it to get rid of crunched fender and such.

Re: The worst car you've EVER owned
I've owned 2 MGB roadsters, both '79s. The first one ran like a sewing machine, and carved through the L.A. canyons like you wouldn't believe. It was the perfect car for a carefree time in my 20s.
Years later, as a married worker drone, I set out to relive those halcyon days by buying what turned out to be the evil twin of my old scooter. This thing literally spent 3/4ths of its time in the shop. I can't really remember driving it, except for its strange habit of dumping hot Prestone on my ankles at red lights.
You can't go home again. But I'd love a crack at an MGA or TR3...

man talk about sitting close to your passenger... that was one narrow car.
