Re: The Russians do it again
I see major problems with it. First it appears to be leaking red stuff from the wings, lots of it, probably nitro methane.
Second the damn thing can't fly in a straight line
and last who the hell wants a jet that goes backwards and seems to slow down and speed up in mid air. Must have a bad crankshaft position sensor and while I'm at it I like our wing better!
just kidding of course.

Great camera work. This remarkable aircraft and its pilot demonstrate what I thought impossible for a high speed jet fighter. In the SU-30MK, Russian aviation has surpassed that of the US and its NATO allies. This truly impressive fighter can stall from high speed flight to stop in less than a second. It can fall back on its tail, without compressor stall, and go into a flat spin and recover in less than a minute. There is no aircraft in any country's inventory that could stand up to it in a dog fight." http://www.crazyaviation.com/movies/CA_SU-30.wmv videoI get sick watching it

Re: The Russians do it again
This jet's competition is the F-22 Raptor, the US's multi-role strike aircraft.
IIRC the F-22 has pitch-axis thrust vectoring, while the SU-30 has thrust vectoring of both pitch and yaw.
Unfortunately, most of the maneuverability being shown pales in comparison to the importance of EW, Stealth, and BVR weaponry.
