It's ugly as hell, but I didn't have one, so I went ahead and hit the BIN button. I figured it's only $75,000 and easily worth at least a quarter of that.

The song "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire" come to mind right about now. 3000 dollars worth of parts, nice profit. LOL...

Yeah, I agree. I was thinking it was something on the line of a "Rat Fink" creation.

Quite honestly this is how I get what I want from my wife. Let me explain. About 6-7 years ago I wanted to build a Big Bear Chopper. Got the build video, sat down one night filled out the order form. Even signed up for motorcycle classes. It was about that time that my wife said to me " I really don't want you on a bike, wouldn't that car you always talk about make you happy? What's it called a Crossfire?" Forgot about the bike and got the Crossfire. So fast forward about 5 and a half years and I'm starting to get the urge for a hot rod so I start talking bike again and sure enough, "I don't want to see you on a bike, your 60 years old when are you going to grow up?" etc etc etc. Well I have wanted a Cobra since I was 14 years old....... most of you know the rest of the story. It works for me
By the way Roasted Chestnuts is a good analogy........ I also wouldn't want to be sitting there if that blower blew up. Can you say Shrapnel!

Y'know, one odd thing I've noticed. Even die hard bikers will refer to their rides affectionately as "scooters", yet scooters, and those who ride them are derided in the biker world as less than real bikes. How weird is that?

I happen to ride a 650 Burgman as my main commuter. Not only will it blow off any cruiser bike, and will at least keep up with a sportbike for a short time, off a red, but it will run rings around the HD's, allow me to carry tons of stuff, and still get on my best days 55 MPG. Now can anybody tell me why you'd be better off riding a pig? Uh, I mean Hawg? Me, I always say, ride what you like and like what you ride.

I kinda gave up on the bike idea right after I got the Crossfire. Buddy wiped out on some pea gravel and now has a titanium rod in his leg. I'm not into pain so it was an easy decision. However I have never discussed that with the "boss".

I'm a biker. I hang out with a lot of bikers. I don't have any issue with scooters, nor does anyone I know. I'll do the biker wave to a scooter rider any time I see one.

By the same measure, many men don't like cats, but most of them love *****!

Talking Re: New Bike?

Rather than get a new bike, I built an 850cc street motor for my Bonneville Salt Flats bike, now it can do double duty!

Yup,I had a Moto Guzzi G5 one liter for 20 years. It was unsafely slow so replaced with A Triumph Rocket 2.3 liters. Not slow and not a Cruiser after my mods.. Gary
