I came across this a few weeks ago, interesting indeed - especially about them being titled and insured as motorcycles... wild.

I think I heard that Begi has one in development.
Should be available 2 weeks after the car is released for sale.

It will be interesting to see if they can really do it at that price.

According to their site they have reservations for 16822 vehicles as of May 4th. That's quite a bit of interest in a vehicle from a new manufacturer that isn't in production yet.

Our "LAME" local news paper "The Akron Beacon Journal" wasted nearly a whole page in color yesterday on this piece of crap:

One man and his ELF: Cycling 1 200 miles in a three-wheel electric bike - MSN Autos

The article featured a 48 year old "Kent State University" employee who just loves driving hers 10 miles a day back and forth from work.
She said she use to drive a Harley Sporster, but now she's an "ELF" evangelist.
Wouldn't you just love being stuck behind her for a couple of miles every morning doing 10 to 15 mph on flat pavement on your daily commute?
She says she didn't think it would get as much attention as it does, and drivers give her thumbs up at traffic lights. (Personally I think she's misinterpreting the other motorist hand gestures).
According to the story it's average cost is $7000.00.
Where do I sign up?

Elio has been on the road promoting this 3wheeler for over a year. I follow them on Facebook. I hope it works out for them and they sell a ton of them.

This could be pretty cool in the end, because then something like the Elio can be used for little errands here and there. That would free up the Crossfire to be used only for cruising around :P
Granted, I'd much rather have the Elio put out at least 150bhp with that body type. Now that would actually be fun!

What I find really interesting about the Elio is that it drives the 2 front wheels, not the single rear wheel like many 3 wheel concepts do.

I wonder how that would handle in snow.
