A significant percentage of people are STILL against people of color in ANY significant positions of power in the USA.

I would suggest from the support President Obama got from all ethnic groups in the recent election, that race had very little to do with his success.

Except in the minds of bigots who must keep bringing the issue of race into the discussion to support their weak arguments.

The President's race has nothing to do with his political and social positions. His upbringing, his education, and his associates do. The two are not the same and while they both may have influenses on his perspective, thay are not interchangable in an intelligent conversation. Would you mind terribly if we had one?

And could we please be allowed to discuss his ideas and policies on their merits?

Why is injecting race any worse, or different then injecting lies and misrepresentation? Assuming of course that his posts are not his legitimate views. Race baiting can be an interesting tactic, if that is indeed what he is doing. But the responses I've seen here are interesting as well.
Given the amount of bullspit that goes on here, his views are just as legitimate and truthful as anyone elses here.
As for Dogboy. He is just looking for someone to play with. Ignore him or throw him a ball. Cause your wasting your time trying to muzzle him. You might look up the words "legitimate" and "truthful."

Race is not, and should not, be an issue. Race baiting is not a legitimate tactic in a discussion. Despite this, anyone who quetions the actions of the President is labeled a Racist by some.

It is a juvenile argument no different than application of the term, "rich white guy" to descredit the positions of someone like Mitt Rommney, or perhaps Harry Reid.

It carries the same weight in a discussion as dimissal of an article found on say FOX News.

Everyone here has the right to post what they want and are welcome to post what they dare. If your argument is lame, or your info inaccurate, expect to be challenged. That is how we learn. Everyone here also has the right to ignore or challenge.

The political forum is not for the thin skinned. That said, it is still quite safe for the weasely to feel brave from behind the relative safety of their computer screen.
