Default First race day - 10-31-2006 , 10:15 PM

Had my first outing at Sandown International Raceway www.sandownraceway.com.au/ two weekends ago.

Ran a best of 1.34.14 against a Z4 M 3.0 manual of 1.33.55

CAR CLUB
CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE PIARC

Lap Times:
1:39.14 1:38.12 1:38.01 1:35.95 1:35.64 1:34.86 1:36.17 1:35.76 1:36.92 1:35.94 1:36.20 1:34.14 1:35.89 1:35.28 1:35.48 1:37.12 1:34.56 1:35.54

Roughly ten cars per race varying from 911 Porsche 350 Z etc.

My car is Limited auto with Powerchip Gold 3" exhaust running Shell V Racing 100 Octane fuel.

Tyre pressures set COLD at 33 Front, 35 Rear up to HOT 40 front, 41 rear. Brakes standard pads.

The slower runs were playing with shift points and Traction control on, letting some faster cars through and learning how to shift the auto effectively, the delay is hard to get used to!!

Remember I had to drive the thing home.

Next time we will be removing the brake dust covers and putting in harder compound pads.
All in all a successful day as my target lap time was 1.35.00

Good job mate... Next time take some pictures and share with the forum... Nice to see an upside down (aussie) crossfire racing on a good road course.

I think I got the same xfire as you. So how did you do out of the 10 cars? And what class is it? Thanks.

Fastest car was a turbo 964 Porsche on Slicks @ 1.24.5 followed by worked 200SX on slicks three vettes etc. I was 28th out of 75 cars not driving 10/10ths.

Class is Marque Sports 3 litre to 5 litre so I was punching out of my weight anyways. Pictures to come.

Congratulations on your outing... Good to hear another street legal Crossfire hitting the tarmac!

It does sound like you could have dropped your tire pressure just a few more pounds. But I'd have to run that by HDDP as he's one of the racing 'authorities' around here.

Enjoy the road, enjoy the ride, but most importantly... enjoy life.

Tire pressures were fine as they were not fluctuating more that a pound or two after the runs, Pirelli Zero Rosso.

I will try sticky tyres next time at Winton probably 17" Dunlops.
