I just hope there are enough NA cars owners out there that would like to get their cars into the 13's. I know this should be a popular way to go with many SRT owners.
Let me ask you this. Assuming everything works out the way you plan it, do you think an NA car could get by with a 3.73 and an "open" rear end with some good DR's at the strip, and decent street tires for the street?
Of course I've got "limited slip" in my AMX, but sometimes the way it hooks up at the drags, I think I could possibly get by with an open gear on the street . So I'm thinking with the better weight distribution in the Crossfire, (and less torque) it should respond in a similar manner. What do you think?
Good luck with your testing, I hope you don't break anything, and try not to tear up too much pavement.:
and Rudy, he is the brains behind the things we do on my car,,we have talked and anything we do with my V8 will last forever on a SRT 6. Rudy comes up with it ,I test it. all the test in my other post is for me, i already know the 346 works. even though i had one limp mode happen. life after Crossfire,, sometimes,,,, in hind site i should have tested the 346 with the open rear first,.

yes is what i would say to your question """ Assuming everything works out the way you plan it, do you think an NA car could get by with a 3.73 and an "open" rear end with some good DR's at the strip, and decent street tires for the street?"" jim

not sure as we went to a friend's yard and spent 6 hours measuring and found 4 of them,, then we had to machine off the flange where the ring gear bolts on, and on another one we had to add a spacer to the ring gear to get the ring and pinon to line up,, then we found a couple of set of gears that bolt on, no mods,, so to answer your question, the one thing i do know is it came from a Mercedes. yes we are using a crossfire diff housing. when all is done i will post all the part numbers and how we did it.. we are also looking at the ford 9". and making that a bolt in,,, that is all i can say about the Ford 9" at this time. jim

Would be doable, but would take alot of work.
I was always qurious the measurement difference between the 4 mounting bolts on the r170 rear k member and the k member in the challenger, pics they look really close, but if parts fit by pictures we would have alot more options.
