What does $4500 look like?
What does $4500 look like?
I added it up and want to puke. The Hoosiers are $1450 a set shipped to P.R. Forgestars were $300 each plus shipping. Add extra AMG reps and MT ET Streets and no wonder I'm broke! I'm an addict and I want more! Freaking Ground Control has me in spending withdrawals! My front track tires only last 2 events. The rears can go longer but they get slick and cause me heartache in more ways than one. Anyone want to sponsor me?

If you want to play, you've got to pay.

Tommy, any more news on those missing parts? Very very soon means days to me but perhaps it's months to GC. I'm on hold waiting. It makes no sense to keep making changes to my K&W setup when I'm going to swap it out as soon as GC wakes up. Too many trips to Colorado? My sweetie says diamonds are forever while HoHos last 3 races. She's smart! (and right)

Les, I feel you on the waiting...it sucks! Ive just put it out of mind so I dont dwell on the wait time. I put some laps in this past friday at H2R, I sure think that you are going to be happy. Gets around the track well. Much better now that we have better tire pressure and there isnt a pro driverin the seat driving it like his BMW cup car. Ill spill that video one day....

What's wrong with the K&W's? The K&W's go lower than is usable but allow too much movement. They work pretty good with street rubber but with track tires they're too soft. Too much brake dive and roll. Because the dive is pronounced I can't lower the front beyond the highest setting (recommended) and my rear settings are higher than recommended too. I still rub in a few places front and rear at speed on the track. Slamming any tire into the inner fender in a corner is equivalent to braking that wheel at the limits of traction. Also, if the car is moving a lot the camber and toe are changing. I find it necessary to make all steering and braking inputs early and still have to wait for the car to stop moving and take a set. Trail braking won't work because it's necessary to wait for the nose of the car to lift before turn in. Why? Because the rear of the car is light and will come around. For serious speed K&W's allow too much body movement. I can't say why GC is better because I still don't have them. I can explain all day what the limits are with the K&W's for track usage and when the driver is getting speed out of his Crossfire. A pic of my car on K&W's as low as possible and still trackable. This picture is was taken last week with my daily rims and tires.

I am not even going to post photos of my addiction...try building two cars, a bike, and big rig....$$$$$$$$$..... I will never track my cars like Les does, but I do like them to handle well on the street and a casual track day...don't need a lot of suspension for the drag strip....but I do like what GC has done over other suspension set ups I have seen. The roadster will get the GC kit for sure.... Les, I would sponsor you, but what would I get? Your hobby doesn't result in any return for me, other than see you smile... LOL...
