Default Autocross Fire

Started the 2014 autocross season strong. Running Hankook Z214s 245 35 18's up front and had 285 35 18 Hoosier A6s on SLK55 wheels in the rear.

Got the fastest time of the day running with a local Corvette club. I also won DSP the following week running an SCCA timed event. Because they have so many different classes, they did a funky grouping, putting all Modified's, Street Prepared, Street Tire, etc into single classes, and then running the PAX inside those groupings. I put a link to the results below. The guy that beat me in an "ESP" car, really ran an ASP car (I run with him all the time), but they put him in the wrong class.
Final Results

I'm most proud about the guy just behind me in time, Gordon M. He was featured in the SOLO Nationals article below. He is a great guy, races very hard and we shared some tips on how to attack the course.

Yesterday, the NASA club had their first outing, and I won my class, 18th out of 75 overall (lots of very fast cars), and 9th in PAX.

At the SCCA event, I logged my 500th racing run in SOLO, with virtually no issues with the car. It is a beast, and a sleeper until the competition takes notice.

Race Hard

Mike,
Glad to hear of your successes.
Back in the early 70's I autocrossed my Porsche 914/6 and was never beat. This was my daily driver and I raced it with street tires. Won the SOLO II division two years straight.

Now I drive my XFire as a cruiser, but miss my racing days.

Tough getting old.

Nice work, Mike.

I made it out and won my class in STU a few weeks ago (no one else in the class) but my times were respectable.

Since I modified the car before thinking of classing, I screwed myself with the rear 275 into a class dominated by highly modified Evos and Scoobys, but oh well, I always have fun...

Here are three of my runs...

Enjoy!
