Mine went up quite a bit. And I have it classed as a 'Pleasure Vehicle,' putting only X miles on it a year (can't remember how many miles).
My SRT6 is the same amount as my 2001 Accord V6 and 2005 4Runner 4WD together.

My insurance went up $200/yr when I traded my 2005 Scion tC in for my XFire. So a modest increase.

Apples and oranges. It will go down if you are trading out of a Bugatti, but it will go up if you are trading out of a Yugo.

The camaro was a V6 and the Crossfire is a 2005, collision alone should be higher. I asked my insurance dealer why it was lower, he told me us older guy's have a tendency to baby our sports cars. Also how can you compare a Camaro to a Bugatti, now that's apples and oranges!

Just call your agent and ask. Mine went down $15/month from my '03 Acura RSX.

The big question is...what's your credit score...? Hard to compare rates with so many variables.

Rusty is right, you really can't compare rates because everyone's qualifications are different, your age, your zip code, your insurance score, your driving record, the car you used to drive, lots of variables. I'm constantly getting asked "how come my buddy only pays this amount". Only your agent can analyze your particular situation. I recommend a sit down at least once a year with your agent to make sure that your cars are rated properly and you are getting the proper discounts you are entitled to. Some companies offer auto insurance discounts if they have your home/condo/renters insurance.
A few pointers...some of you have your vehicles rated pleasure, that doesn't always give you the best rate, check it with a work rate. Some companies offer short mileage if you qualify, ours is under 7,500 miles a year. Some folks try and save money by having high deductibles and while I don't argue with this check and see what a "0" deductible will cost you on Comprehensive coverage. You might be surprised how inexpensive it is vs. what you have. Comprehensive fixes broken windshields, animal hits, theft, vandalism.

I qualified under Geico's Triple Advantage Rate and I'm only 23. The agent said it's very rare for someone my age to qualify for it but I have a stellar driving record. I pay about $100 a month with a $1K deductible for my '04.

I have AIG and mine went up a little over $400 a year (with a perfect driving record...no accidents, no tickets) for my SRT6. Before I had an 01' R/T Stratus...I didn't think it was all that bad, but i am looking around to see if I can get a little better deal.

Hey GatorLCA, I am switching insurance companies soon and I'm getting ready to get slammed (21 yrs old with a 2005 Crossfire). Just curious what you meant by "stellar driving record"?

Thanks,
DetroitHokie

No accidents, no tickets, license # pulled only once (expired tag which was the dealers fault and my mom's car) in 7 years of driving.

your rate is based on your age, driving record and location.

people around me are stunned at the pricing that i'm paying, however, they all live in the burbs while i live actually in the chicago city limits.

i'm paying $1,062 for 6 months... i think its pretty cheap actually compared to the quotes i was getting of $1,600 for 6 months... I ended up combining my home insurance and 2 other cars with All-State.

I'm 45 with a good driving record and I have Fam Bureau Insurance. My '04 coupe was $239 every six months, but my 05 SRT6 is $319 every six months. I don't think that's too bad, but my good driving record may be effected after totaling out the '04 coupe a couple months ago, I guess I'll find out next time they send me the premium, (bill) for the SRT6.
