need scanner to clear trans code
need scanner to clear trans code
I am having a problem with my limp mode trans throwing a P0753 code and my cheap ultragauge won't clear it after fixing the connector plug leak and getting the correct fluid level. I may have a solenoid or conductor plate problem but want to try a high powered scanner to clear the code out before replacing parts. The SRT6 manual recommends a DRBIII tool, but I would like to borrow/rent anything better than an ultragauge at this point.
Re: need scanner to clear trans code
Don't know since have never had a trans code but since it is a P0 and not a P1, that should be a standard code. I show:
(P0753) 1–2/4–5 SOLENOID CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
if were so, it would not shift properly.
Might go to Autozone or a local FLAPS and see if they can clear it.

Re: need scanner to clear trans code
Is it possible that you jacked the connector while installing the electrical plug?
As I recall SOMEONE here did just that and had to open up the trans and install a new conductor plate.

Re: need scanner to clear trans code
Kinda what I was thinking, when you just fixed something and something else goes rong, the first place to look is the last place you worked.
Second if it is a real fault (and if not it shouldn't latch) then if you clear it will come right back.
If you download the 2005 Service manual, you will find the diagnosis procedure starting on page 21-140
Since it is a standard OBD-II code I suspect that Torque Pro can clear it but do not know,
ps AFAIK my 2012 Jeep has the same NAG-1 trans. Works well in a 4475 lb (CW) TC with a 3500 lb trailer.

Yes....unless he popped the codes first and knew he had a leak and low fluid and thought the leak repair and fill would fix it?
