Default setting up custom ignition code to start car

So id like to set up a system in my car to require a numeric passcode before the car will start. Like the system in the transporter movies.

You could try putting a keypad controlled relay in the ingnition circuit. Turn on key, enter code, relay completes circuit of key on and the car starts....

Or put a relay controlled kill switch on the battery that is keypad controlled. Enter code to enable battery and then turn on key.....

That is my .02 worth....

In the late 90's I rented a Peugeot when visiting Scotland. The car had a keypad operated "immobilizer". Apparently the code was changed each time it was rented.

I would look into an Arduino. They are relatively inexpensive and you can program them to do a lot more after you get the keypad to work.
