Electrical Problem won't start sometimes??
Electrical Problem won't start sometimes??
Okay here we go! 2004 coupe love the car, however this year I have to bring Jumper-cables everywhere I go just in case. I have a problem that sometimes I need a jump start to get the car running. This is what has been done to the car this year.New CPS, new battery and alternator is putting out the correct amps. So why? Please help!
Oh and by the way I make sure I turn everything off before i get out of the car.

There is an RFID/transponder chip in each fob. No battery for it, they are assumed to work forever...
Re: Electrical Problem won't start sometimes??
As pioneer4x4 said, check for battery drain.
1. remove the negative terminal.
2. Hook up an ammeter/multimeter between the negative cable and the negative battery post.
3. you should see somewhere between 15 and 30 Milliamps.
4. If you see considerably more, start pulling fuses one at a time in the under hood fuse panel until you isolate the culprit.
Once you find it, report back.

This happened to me recently. I turned the key, all the lights came on but the car wouldn't crank. Got a jump and got the car home. Took the truck to AutoZone and bought a new battery. Problem solved.
Went to start the car one day and the fob wouldn't unlock the door. Opened the door with the key (setting off the alarm), put the key in the ignition and got no lights and no start. Replaced the battery ( the original battery was the one the car had when I bought it new in 2004, the replacement battery was the second AutoZone battery I have bought that had failed shortly after purchasing). Problem solved.
A couple of weeks later I turned the key, all the lights came on but the car wouldn't crank. Got a jump and got the car home. Checked this forum and found a page titled Mystery No Start. Turns out this is a problem with bad solder joints on the relay control module. Removed the module, found bad solder joints just like the ones in the pictures on the Mystery No Start page, resoldered the joints per the instructions and replaced the module. Problem solved.
I did buy one of those portable jump start batteries with the jumper cables on it that now resides in the trunk but don't expect to have to use it.

Re: Electrical Problem won't start sometimes??
Hi just got back, I broke down while taking the Crossfire to my mechanic. Driving, it stalled shut off! Thank God I was not on a parkway doing 60!!! pulled over and heard a noise of the cooling fans running load really load. Oh by the way No Check Engine Light ON!
Called for a tow and waited about 30 minutes by the time the towed showed up I turned the engine on and it started.
I am going to call the mechanic in the morning.

No Changed the CPS early this spring. I am happy to report that the problem has been fixed.
I was the Relay Control Module with the solder not making the connection. My mechanic made the correct connection after reviewing the Cross fire Forum.
Kudos to all especially KDW4Him for his opinion in the matter!!
Thank Guys.
