Default Battery Voltage

I noticed my battery voltage is around 12.4-12.6 even with all accys on or off,I think my alternator is going south cause shouldn't the charging voltage be somewhere 13-14 volts using my torque app to read voltage will put a multimeter on the battery tomorrow raining to hard outside right now also battery is about 7 months old.

Yeah-it should be 14.2+ VCD when charging and 12+ VDC with no load.

I would use a decent DVM to confirm. Not a Bluetooth (remote/secondhand info) read.

Just read mine today with a real voltmeter right on the battery posts, 14.2V right after a start.

All flooded batteries start to gas at 80 percent recharge 2.36 VPC [ volts per cell ] 80 percent recharged 14.16 voltage. If a shorted cell that one cell voltage will be very high.

Also the torque app read about 1.5 volts lower than the actual voltage across the post with a multimeter

I have seen 14+volts , but it usually says only 13.7 or 13.8. should i worry ? no
this reading is according to my USB ps, volt meter, cig lighter adaptor device thingy.

Aanywayys, motor spinsn starts real quick every time ,and the stereo dont dim the lights .

Also, i do leave my bluetooth OBD/ Dashcommand dongle plugged in , all the time.
i do have real good battery ( a Varta ,overspecd but smaller)

battery quality is very important with our cars. low volts = sparking relays and all kinds of crap.
. plus driving 50 kms per day ,all highway. That Helps :-)
