oil filter question

Default oil filter question

ok i got my k&n filter and on the instruction note it shows two lines and the filter housing must go past the first line and come close to the second line, i cant seem to find any way to slip it on further, anyone run into this ? any ideas? thanks alot!

Did you put some oil on the new o-rings?

IDK, first thought in my mind, are you spinning it like the diagram shows? Just the first thing I noticed that might be the cause.

yes o rings are all lubed up and twisted and pushed till the filter statred flexing dont want to ruin the $20 filter, someone has got to know the trick. anyone? i looked and the original and the new k&n are the same height and diameter.

Once past the first line, it should have popped right in. As long as the first line is gone, then you are in good shape.

Remove the filter, put a little oil on the inside lip of the filter. Also flip the over and try installing from the other side.
If you there is enough tension to bend the filter try pushing down without twisting.

Pull the filter out and check and see if you left a rag or old filter o-ring inside housing. Then compare the new filter with the old one side by side.
