Default Another battery question...

I just replaced the original battery in my 04 coupe 10 days ago. I replaced it with an MTP91. The original had a lot of corrosion on the neg terminal. The pos was super clean. I cleaned the battery tray and underneath it. Cleaned the cables and connectors. I used battery corrosion protectant on both terminals. The pos is still clean as a whistle, but the neg terminal has almost as much corossion as it did on the old battery. It has only been 10 days.

Anyone have brand recommendations for high temp grease or some other protectant? Has anyone had good results with the felt pads?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope I don't have to clean the one terminal every week!

I have used for years and a big fan of Truck-lite brand NYK Corrosion Preventative Compound.

If Your Old Cable Is Impregnated With Acid You Will Never Get All Of It Out. The Metal Has Started A Chemical Reaction You Will Not Be Able To Stop. The Only Sure Cure And Cheap Cure In The Long Run Is To Replace With New Cable Or New Crimped End.

Good Luck

Thanks, James and Otis.

I was wondering about the cable. I'll pick up a new cable and when I reconnect everything I'll try a tube of the corrosion compound.

Thanks again!

Quick follow-up. I replaced the Neg cable 6 months ago used Permatex Battery Protector & Sealer and there is no sign of corrosion. Both terminals are clean.

That's good news. Now I know what to look out for.
