starting car - dies immediately - horn on
starting car - dies immediately - horn on
When trying to start the car, or open the door with the key the alarm will activate. When pressing the electronic key buttons, nothing happens but when unlocked with the actual key the alarm will sound. I tried removing various fuses such as the anti theft fuse ( fuse 9), and it worked one time and now it has continued to occur. A few times when trying to crank the car, it would try to crank but then stop after about 2 seconds. It seems like there is a problem with the anti theft maybe it is malfunctioning. If anyone has any ideas on this respond, we need help. It just started doing this today. As of now we can only get into the car by turning the key and the alarm will sound but the car will not crank.

Second impression...BCM not recognizing the car's components.

You see, this does not impress me:
Checked the battery, and checked OK.
Fact is, these cars do WEIRD s#*t when the battery gets weak. We all here have watched people waste time and money due to a bad battery - sometimes, a battery that "tested good".
"Tested good" means little to me, one clown I knew would short the terminals together and if he "got a healthy spark" he assumed the battery was good. That might have worked in 1966, but not today on a Crossfire or ANY of the newer cars.
My vote is bad battery in the key or the car.

Scroll down to #7 and the answer is there. As I mentioned before disconnecting the battery worked - for him anyway.

Good catch.
I thought was just using the key to open the door,
Not the remote unlock, which would shut the alarm down.
Re: starting car - dies immediately - horn on
Thanks for all the responses. I checked the car battery, 12.7 volts. Replaced the FOB batteries. Right now I followed the step 7 on the "key fob won't work". Before doing this everything is lock down, including the truck. So, I disconnected the car battery for a minute. The alarm sounded. Hooked up the battery again. Alarm quit. Still the FOB did not and car did not start. Did not work, but the car was already in the lock down mode. I realize that 30 tries per MB world before dieing forever, only tried this several times.
How can I reset the alarm?

A member had success by unplugging the SKREEM module, and then plugging it in again.
He also had the main battery disconnected while doing this. There is a rechargeable battery
in the siren module that will keep power in the system even when the main battery is disconnected. You need to power the SKREEM down completely.
You can download manuals to find various components.

I hope this will help.
