Default Mobil 1 5W40

Just had Chrysler do an oil change on my 2006 LTD, and they used 5W40 saying it is what they recommended for my vehicle. My service manual calls for 0W40 and so my question is what effect will this have on the engine?

Since your new I'll cut you some slack and not tell you SEARCH.. LOL.

Seems they have recently changed the spec to this, and since it is Mercedes spec. I wouldn't worry about it all should be fine.

5W40 is sufficient will not harm the engine.
No worries as long as they used a full synthetic oil

Was that Pennzoil 5w-40 Ultra Euro the dealership used? That's what the local dealerships here have gone with......

How much did they charge for an oil change?

Even if you don't want to do the labor yourself you can buy the oil at Walmart...

(Just use 8 quarts) 8 x $7 (tax incl) = $56

Proper filter.....can be had for </= $15

Local shop....labor only ....@ = $15
-----------------------------------------------------
Total....... = $86

Sometimes you can get the oil much cheaper on sale .
