I measured the shock travel on my OEM SRT shocks, they were 3.5" and 3.75". I do not know what was the front or back shock I'd guess the longer stroke was the front.
Maybe we are reading the stroke dimension wrong, maybe it is the travel after reaching the nominal at rest position, that is car weight taken up.
Let's face it the wheel drops quite a bit when you jack the car up.
