Changing CPS
Changing CPS
Hi,
I'm having trouble getting the little screw loose. I've tried all the various size sockets star and 6 edged from 6-8 mm and 1/4 inche but none seem to fit.
I've got a 2004 3.2 manual coupe RHD.
Any advice would save me some hair!

Re: Changing CPS
Thanks for the link. I've tried that socket. I can feel defined edges of the screw but still the sockets aren't biting so I may have a worn screw. I'll take a picture tmw and post but if it is down to a worn screw and suggestions/ advice from others out there who have had any experience dealing with that scenario would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the connector is causing problems.
Re: Changing CPS
Not sure to be honest! Looking through different posts I've had typical symptoms i.e. fires up on a cold start, but won't after a short journey so tried new battery first (had original, which is impressive for 04 plate and 92k miles) then re-soldered RCM now onto the CPS.

Re: Changing CPS
Eventually got the pesky little bugger out using a friends 8mm torx socket. I guess mine wasn't a good make! New CPS fitted and she fired up first time. Left her running for a couple minutes. Turned her off for a couple and went to fire her up again and... I hear a very pleasing noise of engine 😎
A big thank you to everyone that contributes to the site and for providing the solution to help me get my car back on the road 👍🏻
