Default Changing CPS

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting the little screw loose. I've tried all the various size sockets star and 6 edged from 6-8 mm and 1/4 inche but none seem to fit.

I've got a 2004 3.2 manual coupe RHD.

Any advice would save me some hair!

You want an E8 Torx socket.

Thanks for the link. I've tried that socket. I can feel defined edges of the screw but still the sockets aren't biting so I may have a worn screw. I'll take a picture tmw and post but if it is down to a worn screw and suggestions/ advice from others out there who have had any experience dealing with that scenario would be greatly appreciated.

You might need something like this in a close size. They work pretty good. (obviously these are too large)

Thanks for the link as they say, I've learned something new, never seen a socket like that before!

What is your problem with the CPS?
Maybe the connector is causing problems.

Not sure to be honest! Looking through different posts I've had typical symptoms i.e. fires up on a cold start, but won't after a short journey so tried new battery first (had original, which is impressive for 04 plate and 92k miles) then re-soldered RCM now onto the CPS.

Do you have any codes set?

Eventually got the pesky little bugger out using a friends 8mm torx socket. I guess mine wasn't a good make! New CPS fitted and she fired up first time. Left her running for a couple minutes. Turned her off for a couple and went to fire her up again and... I hear a very pleasing noise of engine 😎

A big thank you to everyone that contributes to the site and for providing the solution to help me get my car back on the road 👍🏻

It has happened here before that a socket was identified as being the wrong size to what it actually was.
