There's no performance advantage in going from a cold air intake (factory) to a hot air intake (pipercross), probably a disadvantage.

You'll need to ask them. If they can't prove what they say then it is simply marketing.

Ummm...so that they can sell them. There are a number of "chips" and electronic intake fans on Ebay that claim dozens of extra horsepower. Guess what, they don't work.
