£200 for one headlight unit

the rest of the stuff he sells he has bought for under £10 from TK Max

He has a rating of 6 and is going to learn the hard way.

Whatever can be so wrong with the immobiliser that justifies breaking the whole car?
Unless it's got a massive high mileage and other issues...

The car needs a Skreem unit, £1250 + Vat + fitting, so near as dam it £1800 to put it back on the road, add that to the asking price and you could get a perfectly respectable example for the same price without the hassle.

How much??
According to:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...nk-skreem.html

it's $500-800 in the US - is it really that much more expensive in the UK - for what is probably a Mercedes part - from Germany...?!

£200 for a good headlight unit is cheap!!!! A new one, if you can find one, will cost you close on £500.

Think you may be learning the hard way John!!!

learning the hard way is when you part with £'s for parts you can source of genuine members not money makers #karma

There are shops that fix the SKREEM units, you get one from them and you send them yours in exchange. I think the VIN number has to be imprinted into the memory of the new unit or they take it from the one you give them. I think the cost is about $140 in the US.
You can buy used SKREEM modules for about $40 or so. They might not work though until coded properly.

Cheapest skreem I could find in the US was $800 + shipping + import tax and no guarantee that it would work on UK spec car!

I wouldn't want a second hand unit fitted to my car!!!

Let us all know when you find a source for less than £200!!! you will have a queue of owner wanting to buy them off you lol

You are new to Crossfire ownership John, you will learn certain parts are virtually impossible to find, but if you are lucky enough to find what you are looking for, it will cost!!!!! more so SRT parts. :-)

Seem plentiful in the USA and a great website to boot know what i am saying

Far more friendly members from the USA than in the UK. I dont think I need to expand as it would get embarrassing. sg UK website Twitter...

Are SRT headlights different to Standard XFire headlights?

Problem is US spec lamps are no use here!! and no they can't be adjusted.

SRT lamps are the same as N/A.

What is there to get embarrassed about with UK owners??? I've never met any unfriendly ones over the years!!! but I don't go on any UK web sites or Twitter! but I have met one or two who just seem intent on arguing about things they know nothing about though!!!! :-)

There are lots of friendly members in the Manchester area that I know, why not look them up? :-) A couple with SRT-6's to!

OK, thanks Mo - been trying to get some driving in between showers (those wheels are a pain to keep clean, aren't they!) - most good days we've had lately I've been busy.
Also been making trouble over on UKCruisers forum - can't be in two places at once - try as I might!

Hoping for a XF meeting in the 'true' north (not just north Midlands) but I reckon it's a vain hope ATM...
Would love to have a joint XF/PT meeting (ala Ace cafe) which might boost numbers enough to make it more viable - trouble is, I wouldn't know which car to take!
