Re: Calif. Owners... where are we??
Hey John, welcome to the club!
I'm IN Santa Rosa!
Bob knows a lot and is a great resource. Occasionally I get to autocross with him. The mechanic he's talking about also AX's with us and has done ALL the maintenance and mods on my car. Great guy.
Hope to see you around sometime!

Re: Calif. Owners... where are we??
Bob, Steve, and Rohit,
I'm glad you responded, thanks!
I *believe* I have the emissions problem fixed, I had the Check Eng lite and P410 code. Pulled the RCM and did the resolder and relay refurb, now the recirc fan cycles as it should and no more code. (I'm most comfortable working on old British cars..)
The previous owner might have tried their own version of the sticky key fix, the ignition switch assembly is in really rough shape. I've got a new switch and used lock barrel assembly coming. There's a few other electrical issues, and I think they are related to the messed up ign switch. We shall see.. I've also ordered an UltraGauge as well.
Very good to know there's a good MB mechanic nearby.
Steve, do you drive a black coupe? Spotted one on Farmers Lane last week.

Re: Calif. Owners... where are we??
Bob,
I was thinking I'd really want a XF in 'SSB', such a great color. But as fate would have it, I ended up with this peculiar dark cherry red instead. It's a decent paint job, and should buff out nicely.
I'd be really excited about meeting up with any or all of you guys. Perhaps late Spring, or ?? A drive up to Mendocino would be great.

Another forum member and his wife enjoy coming over to the coast on occasion, and have met up with them before. Hwy.128 is one of Calif.'s nicer rural scenic routes, and a top driving route(twisties and elevation changes galore!). When it meets the coast at Hwy.1, it is a site to see.

I'm looking to go to Blackhawk for their monthly "Cars 'n Coffee." Welcome to let me know here if any other Xfire owners are going. The event link is below:

Re: Calif. Owners... where are we??
Some good news regarding my electrical issues on my new 05 base burgundy coupe; it's all fixed! Replacing the ign switch and chime switch resolved everything. Also, over the weekend, I drove up to Sonora where my brother runs a restoration shop (Sierra Auto Restorations) He DA'd and waxed my car, now it's really looking cool! New oem floor mats from eBay, and it's actually starting to look like a new car. More driving this week to reset all of the ecu sensors, then finally emissions testing.
I'm really enjoying this car. Can you tell? WHAT TR-4 restoration project??
