Come one, come all, let's head to one of the most magnificent places,
Yosemite" Hook-Up on Saturday, May 7, 2005 in the Sierra Nevada!!!



We will start in Oakhurst, CA and head for the valley.

We'll cruise the roads stopping at Glacier Point and other locations
heading to the valley of Yosemite, seeing the sights and turning heads.

The Plan
• Meet for Breakfast
• Meet at the BestWestern and head out at 8:00AM
• Head to Galcier Point
• Drive to Yosemite Valley
(There is a $20 park entrance fee unless you have a National Park Pass)
• Head out of the Valley to Mariposa
• Back to Oakhurst
• We'll be stopping along the way for photo ops
• Enjoy the company of other XF owner's.
• Turn as many heads as possible!!! (It won't be hard to do)
• Have dinner in Oakhurst 7:00PM

Please be sure to let us know your are coming for dinner, we need an
accurate count for the reservations

Sign-Up

Hotel Reservations:
We will start in Oakhurst, about one hour outside of the south entrance of the
park. There is a BestWestern which is very nice with reasonable rates. The
Bestwestern has a indoor and an outdoor pool and hot tub and high speed internet
access. Each room comes with a refer and a microwave.

Rooms in Oakhurst shouldn't be an issue, but for those who wish to book rooms in
the Yosemite Valley, start now, they fill up fast.

Please Note:
PM Vegascrossfire with your name, color of your car, where you are coming from,
your cell number, and email address. We will email everyone the list a day or two
before the trip.

Don't forget to bring a FMS radio if you have it so we can communicate during the drive.

We're a very loose group, but we will basically follow what is posted in the master post.
Most people will showup at the Bestwestern Friday night and will find each other, it will not be too hard to do. We'll have breakfast Saturday morning and then head into Yosemite. By the end of the day we'll end up in Oakhurst and have dinner.

How to join us:

- make your reservations at the Bestwestern, or where ever you like
- PM your contact information to Vegascrossfire
- let me know if you'll be joining and I'll add you to the master posting
- show up Friday night if you like
- be at the Bestwestern in Oakhurst at 9AM Satrurday morning
- be ready to show off your car and see Yosemite

P.S. Watch the master post https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...2639#post35253 for changes, though there shouldn't be any except maybe an earlier start, say 8:00 or 8:30. I'll be adding a more detailed route as time gets closer.

Im pretty sure we can make this one. My Grand parents live just outside Mariposa and will be a good kick off post for us. Looking forward to this one.

Let us know if you're going to make it so we can add you. Go ahead and make motel reservations, you can always cancel later. The Bestwestern has a "cancel by 4PM of date of arrival" policy.

 

Too early right now but I'm sure I can find a place maybe even in Bishop.There is going to be a lot of snow in May .June may be better !This has been a bad winter here.

 

Actually it hasn't been too bad in Yosemite. I have taken the family to Badger Pass, on the road to Glacier Point in Yosemite, ski a couple times without an issue. Before New Years we had to use chains, but during the last long weekend the roads were clear from Oakhurst to the slope.

By May the snow will be pretty much gone except in some real shady spots. The roads will be good, it melts fast up there.
