Default Just ordered new wheels (rims) and tires (tyres) - 10-06-2006 , 04:18 PM

I just ordered my new wheels and tires today. I also had them get the wheel sensors from their local Chrysler dealer as I will be keeping the old rims for a while.

I'm going to be making a trip back east to see family in December, so that's the main reason for the tire change. But from the looks of it, even in summer these new tires will be better.

Here are the details...

18x8.0 Nogaro Silver 5x112 Bolt pattern 32mm offset.
19x9.5 Nogaro Silver 5x112 Bolt pattern 35mm offset.

225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
255/35R19 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

I pulled some of the Survey information from TireRack for comparison.
Couldn't locate the stock tires (Continental ContiTouringContact CW95), but I found the CV95, which is probably the closest.

Found them at Big Wheels originally, but they said the wheels were an estimated 45 days out on being delivered and even then there was no guarantee.

So I searched and called around and found Buy Wheels Today. I spoke with Felix and he was glad to help and did a little calling around and the front wheels were in stock and the rears were only 10 days out. He also said they could procure and install the wireless pressure sensors from Chrysler (and get a little discount on them). Felix was also kind enough to steer me toward the Pilot Sport A/S tires for better all season performance.

My primary concern is snow as I will be passing between Albuquerque and Santa Rosa in New Mexico and the elevation will reach just over 7,100 feet. I will attempt to go through between noon and 2:00 pm, but I still want the snow traction, just in case.

So I told Felix "Make it so... ". The whole package came out to just a hair over $2,400.00.

You need to post the pics when you are finished.

On this and my illuminated sill plate color change I will be making a full 'diary' from part delivery to installation to completion.

I may be painting my calipers also since I have to have the wheels off anyway...

It is not an easy task to find wheels that fits crossfires. I hope yours fitted well, please tell me how they did; Mine is a 2004 coupe, what is the factory size for the SRT6.

I believe the wheel sizes are the same for all Crossfire Models. (I'd have to ask another limited or base model owner to verify this).

The wheels and tires + sensors should arrive later this afternoon.

I'll post again with finished pictures of them and my review of the fitment.

EDIT: Just got a call from my wife... they have been delivered. YAY!

Srt, base and limited wheels are the same pattern.
The only thing that is important to know about the factory wheels is that srt wheels will fit on all models.
Limited/base wheels will not clear the srt front calipers.
I have been told this but have not tried to fit it myself.

Okay, here's the full story.

The rear tires were inflated to hold the bead during shipping. (I presume) The fronts had no air at all. So, I made sure all were at the factory specification (on the door sill sticker) of 36 psi.

They also included a full 20 piece chrome locking lug kit with long socket key. VERY nice in my opinion. (NOTE: There were four alignment rings included with the lug kit).

Here are the tire stickers that where on each tire before mounting. (yes, I removed them).

Great looking wheels... be nice to them at the track next weekend... No off road excursions !!! Leave that up to me... I'll spend half the day in the dirt... LOL.
